11.2oz bottle from Bottleworks. Dark copper with nice off white head. Aroma of dark fruit and caramel. Taste is mellow fruit and spices with a definite alcohol burn towards to finish. Lots of dark sugars and fairly thick. Enjoyable.

Barleycorns beer rating. Northern Kentucky. What an exciting beer, perfect for the cold weather that’s been present. Pours very cloudy, mahogany to deep ruby, with a nice, frothy Belgian head. Aroma is full of nutmeg and allspice, with a strong alcohol presence. Flavor is dominated by saffron and spices, dark rum and molasses, and of course alcohol to the fore. Very long finish, full liqueurish sweetness. I’d recommend this for a nice beer to celebrate Thanksgiving or
Christmas Eve.

Bottle: Deep caramel, thick and hazy, a little muddy, moderate to large foamy sand colored head, nice lacing.   Alcohol and dark pitted fruit on the nose.   Minor breadiness, deep mustiness.   In your face soft dark pitted fruit flavor immediately fades, somewhat hollow.   A little musty and dank.   Warming on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes too quick.   Lingering alcohol, albeit not very heavy, with minor dark pitted fruit like breadiness.   Tiz okay, but expected a bit more.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 xibalba89 (147) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 31, 2007
Pours a murky orange-brown with a big, fizzy head. The aroma starts off strong, loaded with spices and light hops. It weakens once the head dies down. The flavor has a lot of zest, with plenty of spices and medium malts, with hints of caramel. Finish is quick, without much ado. Pretty nice, though not as good as some others from this brewery.

Its got the fruity taste and it has a slight grittiness feel. yet the after taste feels a bit astringent. overall its good but it still lacks something.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 nick76 (3461) - Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2007
The aroma is fruity, yeasty, spicy, and malty. The appearance is hazy amber with a nice foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with a flat finish. The palate is typical for the style. Overall it’s not bad but not great.

Dirty deep gold. Nose fruity, quite spicy as well. Flavor is nicely sweet up-front, fruity with oranges and apples, then dry at the end. Alcohol noticeable, but not overpowering. Nice.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 RblWthACoz (963) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 21, 2007
Pours an evenly clouded amber gold with a touch of brown. Nose is alcohol with a fruit tone. Flavor is spicy (not as in spicy hot, but spicy from the spices that are obviously there). Milder sweet tone. Alcohol nibbles on you just a small amount before disappearing. Feel is good. Decent level of carbonation and overall definitely drinkable.
