3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle bought in the bottle shop near Erasmus in Brugge last Christmas. A dark amber coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Typical sweet Belgian Christmas beer aroma. Tastes, sweet, malty, caramel, slightly sour. This used to be a stunning beer especially when found on tap but it is not what it used to be. Acceptable enough though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours cooper with a light orange tint. The head is tope rising about 1 finger and fading quickly to only a ring of foam around the glass. The lacing is actually really good.
The aroma is light, at first it was wet paint, really? I guess thatís just alcohol with a bit of spice, not much to hang your hat on.
The taste is nice very flavorful and only enough winter spice to make it one, but not so much that it overwhelms you. The front is very sweet ends with a touch of spice.
Medium feel and drinkability.
Not expecting much and got more than I though, decent Belgian winter.

33 cL bottle from Beers of Europe poured into a goblet glass. Huge head, it took a while to pour. Once poured its a dark copper colour with a full head. The aroma is rich and strong and it tastes, strong, smokey and sour, and is clearly spiced.

clear red amber, huge beige head.
yellow fruity and citrussy, spicy sweet base to that, malty and caramelly notes. also some spicy alc. after a while in the glass the soursih and citrussy notes disappeared, and left a sweet malty, sweet dry caramelly aroma. aroma warns you of a very strong belgian dark brew coming up.
flavor is dark fruity, smoked? i didnít expect charchoal notes, coriander, dark caramel, sour raisins. all in all a nicely spiced dark fruity belgian beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sentori di caramello e malto. Lieve liquirizia. Colore aranciato molto scuro. Discreto cappello di schiuma beige. Al gusto parte dolciastra e caramellosa e poi speziata. Nonostante il forte tono alcoolico non finisce lunga.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A cloudy medium to dark amber beer with a small, frothy, mostly diminishing off white head. The aroma is moderately malty and lightly yeasty. There are notes of toasted grains, caramel, licorice, dark fruits, clove, coriander, alcohol, and perhaps a hint of honey. The flavour is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly sour, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively to fizzy carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, moderately alcoholic. A goog degree of complexity, quite well hidden alcohol, but at the same time warming. Maybe too carbonated and average appearence, but a good Christmas brew.
