Bottled, Pours hazy amber with a diminished yellow/ beige head. Nose of yeast, fruit and light malt with notes of spices. Flavour of spices, yeast, light malt with fruity notes. Medium bodied. More dry finish. A nice brew.

Bottle from under the stairs. Fuck, most of it’s ended up all over the desk. Dusty copper with a slim halo of head once it’s calmed down. Big cakey aroma pitched somewhere between English barley wine, doppelbock and the Flanders spicerack; loafy underpinning malts overlaid with fruitcake, nectarine, liquorice and honey. Full and mellow with hints of Southern Comfort, oak, liquorice, gingerbread and soap, but not the alcohol content or declared spices. Best Regenboog beer I’ve had to date, and certainly the first I’ve had worth licking off a computer work station.

On tap at ’t Brugs Beertje. A little funky, lactose and sweetness. A little ginger and chocolate but very faint. Overall weak aroma but not unpleasant. Hazy dark orange amber with thin lacing head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts sweet with lots of candi sugar, light spice, and caramel, and some carbonic acidity. Nice sweet finish with carbonic burn and light alcoholic warming. Nice Xmas beer but not too spicy.

from tap @brugsch beertje, dark brown colour with stable white head. Yeasty and fruity smell. Taste: very yeasty, apricot, orange peel, alcohol, sugar, and bitter. Nice but not perfectly balanced beer.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2009 Pours a really hazy reddish brownish color with a nice head. Aroma is apples, but not the sharp tart kind, almost like calvados, with some cordial like sweetness and some alcohol. The flavor is very alcoholic with some nuttiness, some toffee, and some cherries. The flavor is a little yeasty. The spices are very muted in this beer, or at least they’re kind of hidden behind the booze. Not a whole lot of subtlety here, but it’s not bad.
