barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA Feb 26, 2006 (draft) Looked like coffee with cream, I guess because the keg had been jiggled. Flavor was pretty good. Lots of berries and fruits. A fairly strong alcohol bit at the finish.
BuckeyeSammy (381), New York City, New York, USA Sep 9, 2008 Really good, and extremely well balanced christmas ale. Did not get any sence that this was 11% alcohol by the flavor or palate. Pretty sweet, malt, dark fruits and nice spices. But all flavors in a balanced, mild splash. dchmela (775), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 8, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with a thick white head. Sweet malt and candy sugar aroma with hints of citrus dominate the aroma. Thick creamy body with nice hints of coriander and sugary sweetness. Smooth and easy drinking, but dangerously strong. a very good beer and neat version of a Belgian Xmas ale. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Jul 31, 2008 This Belgian Strong Ale pours a slightly cloudy medium amber color from a 33cl bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is sweet malts, over-ripe dark fruit and some spices. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are caramel, dark fruits and fairly sweet. The hops are earthy. A touch spicy, grain of paradise and coriander, but mostly sweet malts and fruit. Nice carbonation. Hides the 11% alcohol very well. Would make a nice beer to sip on a cool winter evening. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet. BoBoChamp (729), Gent, Belgium Jul 28, 2008 33cl, from Geers Oostakker, complex, yet heavy, cloudy, nearly no head, good X-Mas brew nearbeer (1326), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 7, 2008 330 ml. Hazy, deep garnet with a creamy two finger head that lasts all day. Aroma is clove and other earthy spices, dark fruit cake with icing, and some slight bitter herbs and alcohol. The well balanced flavor has all the same elements, plus some citrus and spicy yeast. Medium-heavy body is smooth and dry.
