Bottle - At Brugs Beertje, Bruges, Belgium Rocky, white head. Fair lace. Sparkling, amber body. Fruity, lightly yeasty aroma. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lighty bitter, finish. I like this fruit beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2005 Bruges Beertje, Brugges 2004: Billed as a strawberry beer by the waitress but damned if I smell any. Poured a yellow orange with a large white head. Orange/Lemon aroma. Has a very sour citrus flavor with a bit of a flowery taste and sour tomatoes. Made me pucker. Decent but not something I’ll drink again.

Weird nutty aroma, with eggs there too. Cloudy copper/gold. Sweet start, slightly tart & citric. Nice, though strange

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled - St Albans Beer Festival. A grassy spicy aroma to this hazy orange beer. A bit of spice, disinfectant and Belgian complexity in the taste but I didn’t get any fruit. Not bad though

Bottle. Quite, peppery, and acidic (sloe berries??), quite yeasty, with some citrus tang in the finish, tastes very Belgian.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beer #26 at Chelmsford beer Festival, with Duff. You’ll have to excuse me but, by this stage of the evening my notes are becoming a little difficult to decipher. All I could really pick out was "Curious sweet fruit aroma and flavour. A bit of yeasty sourness. Interesting". Time to go, but not before picking up a couple of bottles to drink on the train back to London. Bottled.

Golden color. Malt aroma, dry. Some malt flavor, a bit sour, thin at the end, short. Probably too old. Thanks Joris for this bottle.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Strong citrus and berries aroma. Spontaneous ejeculation, hazy, golden/pinkish color, large white head, good lace. Sour, strong hibiscus, light bitter, sandy, dry. Experiment by brewery succeeded, patient died however. Yuck.

1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
quite possibly the worste beer I have ever tasted. I did manage to drink the whole bottle without pouring it out. The color had an ever so faint pink hue leaving the beer somewhat brite. There was little to no head retention. The aroma was simular to a babies diaper, phenolic as all could be. The flavor was predominate of phenolic, band aid/listerine with a hint of berries. Absolutely foul. The sour tartness was the only part that made this beer palatable. The finish was clean and dry which left me forgeting how much I disliked the last sip before trying again and again until it was finally gone.
