Tap at Max’s Belgian Fest 2010. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is doughy light biscuit and bready malts, lemon zest and Belgian phenolic spice-- light clove and lemongrass, with white wine and salty hints. Flavor is toast, earth, leather turns to wet dog dander-like- wirey and ropey, with some light tartness in the finish- starts good, ends not so good.

Draft at Maxs. Pours a golden body with white head. Metallic notes, keg infection? Fruity yeast, apple cider vinegar, hints of honey combs and a weird cider finish. Odd, i love the honey esk tones.

Tap at Max’s. Pours clear yellow with a small white head that leaves good lace. Salty nose with light spice and white sushi vinegar. Taste is lackluster- some light spice, white grapes. Ends powdery dry. Ick.

Bottle, Quinns, Camden. Poured a slightly hazy orangey gold colour with a good sized dissiapting chef’s hat white head. Malt heavy aroma with a trace of coriander and honey. Quite lively carbonation. Flavour was pretty darn sweet but had a likeable fruitiness and a reasonable balance to it that gave it marks for drinkability. Teeters on the precipice of being cloying but just manages to pull through. Not something I’d want to drink too much of, but an enjoyable tripel nonetheless.

1st October 2008. A bit different this tripel. Loads of sourish fruit up front with a wheaty dry spicyness. A nice zing to this tripel, the cut of it makes this refreshing.
