4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It pours first a hazy orange brown then turns cloudy. Great head of foam, retention, and lacing.
Spicy nose to start..smells like some asian spices were used and the mustard spice clearly listed in the name. Quite a bit of sugary sweetness seeps through and thereís an earthy character here as well.
Mmm..spicy, candi sugar sweets, earthy malt, cool that the mustard seeds integrate so well giving the beer an unusual but enjoyable balance.
Medium body with the carbo on the lighter side.
I only bought 1 bottle but Iíll buy more if itís still around. An overall tasty son of a gun.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2015 03/12/2014 @home - 33cl bottle from brewery.
Masive gusher!! What a pitty because after that, I really liked the beer. Amber coloured, foamy head, Smell has soms lambic like sourness, light sweetness, floral. Taste : light sourness, spices & hops, at the back some sweetness. What a pity of the gusher because its taste is verry nice and complex
01/02/2015 : re-taste, no gushing this time and the beer is much better than the 3.9 I gave earlier, damn itís really good!

bottle. thick murky pour with sediment and no head. aroma of caramel. sharp carbonation and thick syrupy body. flavor of caramel. lingering unpleasant bitterness in the finish and maybe the slightest hint of heat from the mustard seed. not much life left. pretty bad.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted when it was still made at the original Regenboog brewery, not sure if it has changed a lot since Johan Brandt moved his brewing activities, but it is hard to imagine it hasnít. In its original form, this was a pleasant, amber coloured musterd seed beer, in which a very slight hint of mustard was indeed detectable, yet covered by a candi sugar and malty sweetness. Had some complexity and was quite enjoyable.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
This one pours the color a nice golden color with a hazy body and a foamy white head. Wostytje has a funky aroma of hard apple cider, pineapple and yeast. The taste hits you with sour apple cider vinegar and funky earthy yeast. Then it turns somewhat sweet in the middle and end with an odd bitter and mustardy finish. The body is medium with a smooth texture. Overall itís a very odd beer. Unique. However for me the flavors just donít work together at all.

(bottle) pours a murky orange-brown colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of butter and cherries, with a light lemony tartness, some cardboard, powdered sugar, fudge and sugar icing. flavour is mostly melted butter on toast, with some straw and a hint of grain husks. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours cloudy amber with a huge beige head and a spicy aroma. There is a strange conglomeration of tastes that are dominated by mustard, a flavor I detest. That made it very difficult to rate this beer. I didnít detect any candi sugar, just that darn mustard.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
spicy, yeasty, slightly sour aroma. some sweet notes in the aroma, faintly caramel/toffee, very muddy, murky light tan/dirty yellow (though it did have a bouncy bike ride home from the shop). no much head. yeasty beer. some sweetness, caramel, a hint of sourness. thereís a subtle spiciness in the middle, finishing with a tangy note. thereís a lot of flavors mixing from start to finish. kind of muddled, but definitely complex and interesting.

I never knew a beer brewed with mustard could be good. But smisje proves in this weird brew that it can be tasty.
