Bottle. Cloudy, orangey amber with quite a big head. Sweet and spiced aroma, reminding me mostly of orange peel. The flavours are predominantly sweet, though with lots of orange peel and spices. Only at the very finish does mustard break through. Too sweet, but I quite liked the rich development of flavours.

11.2oz. bottle: This one pours with a very large off-white head that drops away rather quickly. The color is a hazy, darker golden hue with a touch of orange. The aroma is mainly bready and yeasty, with some spiciness. And yes, one of those spices appears to be mustard. Fortunately, there is no discernible mustard to the taste. Somewhat spicy and bitter taste. A decent enough ale.

Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is not as bad as what I thought it would be, there’s mustard but also spices, not too discouraging so far. Then the flavor, ok the mustard is present but it’s not overpowering the taste buds, it leaves some space for the spices to do the job, not bad, but then not that good. The palate is pleasantly thick and creamy while the carbonation is gentle. OK so it’s not the monster I was thinking but still it’s not very interesting, the other t’smisje products are far superior to this one.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy - mustard and coriander, combined with notes of over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with very strong notes of mustard and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry and a bit watery end.

Well I’ll be damned, this beer actually smells like mustard - just when I thought I’d seen it all! The mustard spice is well integrated with a light phenolic note and a touch of yeasty apple fruitiness. Lightly hazed orange color with a thin tight layer of foam. What a strange flavor - a touch of the mustard seed and phenols quickly gives way to a clean tart acidity that is pretty nice, which in turn segues into an herbal, almost medicinal finish. Hard to get a handle on this beer. Whoa - I just unceremoniously poured the dregs into the glass, and discovered just how much yeast was in this sucker. It is now a heavily clouded orangey-brown color. A gray yeastiness takes charge in the nose. Mouthfeel becomes a tad creamier with the yeast, with a touch of astringency and orange peel in the finish. In the end, I kind of enjoyed this beer, and feel that the mustard seed ingredient was put to good use here, but at the same time I don’t think I’d drink alot of this.

Draught. Light amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Sweetness, fruits, spice and light yeast. Flavour is a bit bland. Fruits, spice and yeast notable. Is medium bodied. Has a somewhat watery and fruity end.

Tap at ZBF: An mustard yellow coloured ale with practically no head, some hints of mustard. Strange brew not my favorite.
