Tastes like an alcohol wipe smells. Strong spritzy carbonation...kind of a sour ale base with strange herbal, astringent, alcohol and mustard seed notes sprinkled around. Very weird, but not unpleasant experience.

Pickled fruit, wit aroma. Sweet, tart, yeasty, rich. Apricot and orange. Very sophisticated drinking. Don’t know how much mustard is in ther but I’d never have called it. Finish is tangy, sweet. Very enjoyable. Blind Tiger, HHR 4th trip.

(11.2oz bottle- Red Wagon, Rochester MI) Murky yellow brown. nose like a belgian golden ale of any stripe... no mustard yet. delicious, witty, hoppy, and a perfect hint of mustard.... not what i expected. understated and elegant.

No other word to describe this beer other than "interesting". Had a beautiful orange coloring, and nice white head. The flavor was spicy, and extremely malty. The mustard flavor was unique, but after about halfway through, I couldn’t finish it. I still recommend everyone experience this beer at least once, just to say that they’ve tried a "mustard ale".

Bottle at Chelmsford Beer Festival, July 2005. Rather murky straw colour. maybe a bit spicy but I wouldn’t have spotted mustard. Otherwise, its a fairly standard yeasty and slightly sharp Belgian ale. Not bad but not too exciting.

Texture aqueuse, faible carbonatation, alcool bien masqué. Non mais…? Bouteille, Bier Temple, Avril 2005.

(Bottled, BBE somewhere between 2006 and 2008) Hazy amber color (muddy with yeast poured in) with a surprisingly small, bubbly, white head. Fruity and malty, slightly sweet, acidic and bitter aroma with spicy herb hints. Mustard can certainly be dug out, although it’s not evident. Slightly sugary-sweet-malty flavor with fruity hints, and somewhat more clear mustard than in the aroma. Nearly medium-bodied, acidic palate with a bit fizzy, but reasonably low carbonation. Can’t say this is enjoyable, but still clearly more drinkable than the Honing. Halloween has been the only really pleasant Regenboog brew so far.

Very hazy yellowed orange. Extremely fizzy; head fizzes up like soda pop and falls just as quickly, and there are tons of bubbles streaming up the glass. Lots of toffee in the aroma, along with caramel, candi sugar, molasses, nectarine, and spicy hops. There is perhaps a hint of mustard seeds, but the citric notes really make it difficult to tell for sure. Maybe what I suspected were hops were infact mustard seeds - bottom line, the mustard is not prevalent at all. Initial impression of my first taste: way too carbonated, leaving tongue and mouth tingly and making it difficult to distinguish much flavor. I had to stop to swirl the glass for a good 5 minutes to drive off some of the excess carbonation. Once carbonation died down, flavor wasn’t that great afterall - metallic copper, moderately sweet, with a slightly dry, tart apricot finish. Not really sure what the mustard seeds did here.
