Cloudy amber, but not as rich in particulates as the Fiori thankfully. Full bodied with a robust flavour of apples, berries, a light spiciness (cinnamon?) and a wonderful peppery sharpness from the mustard seeds. Very enjoyable. I won’t be buying this again. pushkinwow (7), Ontario, Canada does not count | 0.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Aug 26, 2008 So maybe we got a bad bottle but the first comments have to be direct comments from the people around the table:
"I’d rather like my cats ass" from my wife. "If you barfed in a can and aged it in a can for twenty years it would taste better then this beer" kelly.
As for semi-serious comments this was one of the worst beers I have ever had. The only redeaming quality was that the aroma was better then it tasted - which smelt like burst mustard and tin. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Light amber with a fleeting head. Earthy, yeasty aroma with Dijon mustard. Medium body. Flavor starts with mildly sweet malt then turns to spicy, earthy mustard seed. Different in a good way. borisz (182), Netherlands

Served in a duvel tulip a couple minutes out of the small beer fridge. Aroma is candi sugar, bosc pear, floral and earthy, the mustard aroma is very faint and comes across sweet & herbal. There is also a touch of dark caramel. Dark orange/golden color with a smallish off-white head. Hazy. The initial taste is sweet, fruity (apples, pears), mustard (very complex and mysterious) followed by a bit of woodsy red wine vinegar (Flanders red-ish), more fruit, and a lingering mustard that comes across as a complex, sweet spice. Well attenuated. There is a definite and welcome maltiness due to the munich malt used in the grist. This is a well made beer and now I know what mustard seeds taste like in beer.
