moelikebeer (219), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bottle. Murky, dirty brown pour. Aroma of candi sugar, belgian yeast and mustard spiciness. Similar flavor with some hops, a slight sourness, and a more pronounced mustard quality. This is definitely one of the more interesting beers I’ve tried. Certainly unique, though not entirely pleasant. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jun 26, 2008 Bottled, bought in Grobbendonk. Cloudy amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of yeast, some mustard, slight sugar and hop. Slight sweet and bitter taste, quite dry and yeasty as well. Not brilliant. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 4, 2008Tasted at the Real Ale VIP Session. This is one of the more interesting beers I’ve tried lately. Copper golden with a fizzy white head. Mustard, honey, and earthy grain aroma. Tart taste of honey mustard and raisin notes. Quite good. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Jun 16, 2008 My friend really thought this tasted like pickles. I didn’t detect the mustard that much, however it was present. Different, but the beer character comes through well enough to not simply make it pickle juice to me. Well done and unusual. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Interesting dijon aroma. Hazy amber color with a fluffy beige head. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Herby dijon flavor over medium caramel.Finishes quite dry with a dijon flavor staying around. Quite different. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA May 10, 2008 This and the Vuuve, I just could not handle, I think they are absolutely heinous. Although this is more paleatable than the Vuuve. Perhaps this is better as a food beer, needs something paired with it to really open up its true potential. Hints of mustard seed present in the nose, but are very subtle on the palate. Very light bodied and simple, just not for me. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 8, 2008 Pours thin orange/amber with a fizzy white head. Yeast, fruit, and malt aroma. Funky flavor. Sweet and tangy. This stuff has a sizzle to it. Yeast, malt, and light spices... the mustard seed is so subtle and completely unique. Light body that has ample carbonation, dances on the tongue. A little bit sticky on the lips. An interesting creation! something about mustard and yeast just fit together. tiffanya (45), Federal Way, Washington, USA May 6, 2008 Unique, dry, and tasty. Sweet and lightly fruity malts with notes of dijon mustard. Delicious when paired with corn dogs. (I’ve paired it with corn dogs twice now!) Would also pair well with pretzels, bratwurst, or a turkey-dijon sandwich.
