17thfloor (807), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 8, 2008 Pours thin orange/amber with a fizzy white head. Yeast, fruit, and malt aroma. Funky flavor. Sweet and tangy. This stuff has a sizzle to it. Yeast, malt, and light spices... the mustard seed is so subtle and completely unique. Light body that has ample carbonation, dances on the tongue. A little bit sticky on the lips. An interesting creation! something about mustard and yeast just fit together.
iambeerviking (7), , Greater London, England does not count Nov 21, 2008 Very cloudy pour with ivory head about an 1/3 an inch.
I think knowing this had mustard seed has affected the rest of my thoughts though.
Still, I enjoyed this and went well with my sausages. Ibrew2or3 (1900), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2008 Pours dirty dark gold straw with off white head. The aroma is sweet sugar, some spice and then mustard mixing in too. The taste is much the same with sweet sugar, sweet malts, sweet dark fruity esters, some mild spices and then light amounts of mustard and hops. Nice brew. It could really use more mustard to bring about a more interesting beer. As is, the mustard is just faint and deep in the background. nbutler11 (275), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 21, 2008 Danke, ajm. Pours a light golden color from the bottle with a faint white head. You can smell the spicy mustard in this beer from across the room. That said, it’s potent and aggressive with a variety of peppers, apricot, and possibly blood. Would definitley be amazing with sausage. ajm (458), Los Angeles, California, USA Oct 18, 2008 Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Not for the faint! Biting, spicy mustard in the nose and tongue surrounded by bitter fruit and an undercarriage of black pepper. Probably genius with wurst. fishingnet (928), Brandon, Florida, USA Oct 12, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt, spicy yeast, and a hint of mustard. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and spicy finish. Interesting.
