JorisPPattyn (4282), Antwerpen, Belgium Nov 23, 2004 Obviously aged sample - bottledate 6/87 Gushing after 14 1/2 years (!) to good off-white head, fluffy and receding rapidly; orange-amber beer, hazyness mounting with the bottle level descending. Fruity sweet-sour nose with spicey surrounding, pineapple, orange, yeasty-estery, tad of Brett - or pedioc.; ginger. Very tart, dry and fruity taste: little bitterness, some fruit-acidity, no sweetness. Highly attenuated, spritzy carbonation. Medium bodied, retronasal traces of old, tired dark candi syrup, no longer sweet, and touch woodiness, just a dash of chicory. At the end, the strange, dry-spicey -infected, yes - touch of ’t Steedje becomes more outspoken. Very well preserved beer, however, for its age, hardly any negative oxidation trace. Well worth looking for, Oostende area, or specialised pubs as Kulminator or Delirium.
oberabcbbsok (682), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 28, 2008 Tasted at bierjutterij in Ostend. I love the old beers and this one was still very nice. for a beer of 19 years old SteC (128), Oostende, Belgium Dec 18, 2006 I tasted this one at the bierjutterij in Ostend. This tripel was about 15 years old when I tasted it.
It showed a fluffy head with a very bright yellow colour. Its aroma was filled with citrus. The head disappeared fast.
Tasting it was a big surprise to me. A very outspoken sweet lemon taste dominated the palette, with some dry aftertaste. this one has a very specific taste. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 30, 2005 Updated: Jun 13, 2005(Bottle 25 cl) An old bottle that I acquired at the Café Lido in Vlamertinge and their murky lumber room. This beer is apparently good untill 1996 and the brewery ’t Steedje has closed a long time ago. Dark amber color with large sediments and an impressive lively head. Soft and with a slight hint of iron. Might once have been an "Oud Brulin" but all the sharp edges are gone by now. According to the label, it’s brewed with several spices. They are no longer detectable. 110904
