Tabernash Weiss Bock

Dark brown with some reddish-orange highlights. Wonderful nose; powerful rush of sweet malts, specialty grains and wafty yeast esters. Malty, sweet, and yeasty flavors seem to meld perfectly. Banana sweetness is very strong, with maybe too much sweetness; has a sugar water flavor and texture that I didn't like. Hint of bubblegum.

Draught. Body is dark orange-brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, dark bread, cookie), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with strong notes of banana, clove, toffee, and brown sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation. A bit sweet, but a great estery aroma.
