Tap at the brewpub-pours light orange with a small white head and some lacing. looks very nice! nose is dank pine, pine and more pine!!!!!! like a fresh cut pine forest, almost evergreen ish hop character. flavors are very piney and resinous with lingering minty quality. very solid and this is my type of ipa-straight forward and bitter. the typical flagship ipa however, in a very good way!
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Braudog (5028) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. An amber beer with a big sudsy head. There’s a nice floral aroma, and this drinks with a nice pine-laden hoppiness and a solid malt backbone. Rock solid American IPA. (#4678, 7/7/2012)

Cloudy golden with a white head. Citrus and grapefruit makes for a very nice and easy drinking IPA. Clean

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 laymansbeerfan (1) - Rosemount, Minnesota, USA - APR 16, 2012 does not count
Served in a Boulevard tulip from a 22oz bottle; my first attempt at a review.
A: This is an amber color beer, with only a little white head sticking around.
S: I get a sweeter smell from the malt portion, and some citrus and floral notes from the hops.
T: There is a really nice hop presence here and it has a pretty bitter follow through. The sweeter malt is present for me at first and then the hops take over... a nice blend.
MF: Nice carbonation in this one, as well as a dry finish.
O: This was a nice IPA from the Mountain region! The flavors worked pretty well for me to give a good hop presence while also maintaining some malt identity too. This one doesn’t show the alcohol off in the taste, so it makes it seem like it’s not really there so much. I could see myself drinking this fairly regularly if it were available to me all the time.
3.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 nbondi (195) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 10, 2012
Orange-amber with good white head. Modest nose of citrus, pine, and bubblegum. Good carbonation with somewhat thin body. Not a detractor for me, though. Sweetness is outdone by big piney/resinous hop character. Pretty good.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 NobleSquirrel (3313) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2011
Draft at GABF. Pours a good looking deep gold with a sticky head. Nose is fresh and popping with citrus and some resiny simcoe. Faint malt in the background. Clean overall. On tasting, the hop notes are really nice. Not overly astringent or drying, just fresh and clean. Malt profile is robust enough to support the hops. Solid.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (6962) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - NOV 21, 2010
draft. lightly hazed copper. fresh and vibrant simcoe/cascade hop nose, PtE-like in both fresh juiciness and softness. clean and snappy up front; juicy cirtus across the back; medium to heavy bitterness. almost spot on for the kind of IPA I dig, if it weren’t for the green celery juice flavor I get (heavier in the finish). medium+ body, good crispness across mid-palate. tasty.
