3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the brewery-pours bright deep orange with a small white head and lite lacing. hmmm, seems a bold odd-lots of herbal and tobbaco hop qualities here. flavors are leafy, almost british in style. big malt sweetness doesnt do much for me. dry herbal hop finish lingering with the malt sweetness. hmmm didnt care for this one.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft at the brewpub. A red-tinged amber hue with a sudsy head. The aroma is surprisingly sweet. This carries to the flavor ... The hops surface as an odd sweet aspect, neither citric nor acidic. There’s also a soapy, or maybe odd smoky, kick to it too, but only the immediately initial touch of the tongue. It goes quickly, but I had trouble getting past that initially off-putting impression. Got better the more I drank. (#4679, 7/7/2012)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is a huge citrus and pine hop. The flavor is a very good IPA; smooth balanced flavors, citrus, bitter hops, caramel toasted malts. Very good.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted on tap at the brewpub 10/25/2008. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruit and floral. Kind of mild bitterness for a “PNW” style IPA, a touch too sweet with not enough hops to balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly bitter, most of that at the very end.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
The name lied to me. Sure it is a hoppier IPA than most, but nothing comparatively. Reminds me of a more full bodied TG.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is outstanding for someone that is looking for an agressive over the top hoppy beer. I prefer a little more balance, but it is interesting to see a NW brewer do a true west-coast style IPA. The hops are obviously apparent in the nose and on the palate, with a sweet caramel malt background that does its best to keep up but just cannot stand the onslaught. This is the kind of beer that is so dry that your palate is kind of ruined for anything else afterwards. Pucker power.
