Slightly sour barnyard funky aroma with bready malt. Pours a golden color with small bubbly white head. Slightly sour funky flavor with bready biscuity malt.. Light bodied, high CO2, quick sour finish, followed with bready malt. Good into sour. Not really sour and not overly complex. Easy to drink and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

An interesting saison. Pours orange with a with a white head. Smells of red grapes. Taste is similar, creamy with lots of red grapes, and a tart finish. Had on tap at the brewery.

Poured into tulip glass. Golden straw with low white head. Aroma is sweet wine grapes, oak, bretty funk, floral, pear. Taste is sweet up front with a dry tart finish and very mild oaky bitterness. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear light gold with a few bubbles. Cabernet and wood dominate the nose, touch of funk. Taste is lighty tart with lots of wine, a touch of barnyard flavors, bright malts in the back. A complex drinker -- a bit odd but still very enjoyable.

Bottle. Nose is lemon with a hint of wood. Pour is a hazy light yellow. Minimal white head. Taste is moderately tart with some tannins coming through. Quenching after the first sip. The woody flavor seems to persist through each sip. But each time it seems to be balanced by just a hint of sweetness from the beer, yet it doesn’t seem cloying; very drying finish. This is very nice.

12oz bottle. Poured a cloudy golden color with a smaller sized head. Oaky/woodiness, some funk, berries, with the Cab coming out as it opened up. Thought this one was nice ...

12-oz. Thanks, N! Pours a murky dark rubied garnet with a dense and creamy off white head that goes away. Big sweet nose of jammy cab berries; not sticky or off-putting like a fruit bomb cab at all, but the appealing complex berry-ish side of the sugars, along with some oak and some light grassiness from the brett. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Sweet berry tartness, grass, some light minerally dryness, some acidity on the mid palate. Crisp light finish. Very nice.

12 oz bottle brought over by a friend. Not sure how old it is. The bottle says Vintage: . It’s blank. Pours hazy yellow-orange with hardly any head. Not surprising. Lots of lemon citrus on the nose, a bit of white vinegar, some brett funk. Flavor is more lemon citrus, but more like pinesol than lemonade. Get a bit of chemical flavor in there. Still bretty funk in the flavor. A bit undercarbonated, too. A bit flawed, but pretty nice overall.

The beer is a light golden color. It’s somewhat cloudy, but that really depends on how much sediment is disturbed on the pour. Small to medium white head. The aroma is big on barrel character. Lots of oak mingling with funky brett. The A touch of cough syrup comes out as it warms. Light vinous note, mild apricot, pear, apple. Quite dry. Tannic oak bitterness. Earthy and funky. There’s some mild saison character but the barrel comes on a bit strong, particularly as the beer warms up. When colder, some of the grain sweetness shows through, but that’s pretty much gone at room temp. Some body but mouthfeel is generally light. Normal carbonation. Still good, but it’s my least favorite of the four Récolte Du Bois bottles on shelves.

"Tap at brewery: Lightly wild, from the yeast strain used....a touch of brett and oak, mellow but complex. Gives the impression of herbs and spices that aren’t even there. I dig the yeast, this is pretty nice stuff. Can’t wait for fruited varieties readying themselves in barrels as I type :)"
