The beer is a light golden color. It’s somewhat cloudy, but that really depends on how much sediment is disturbed on the pour. Small to medium white head. The aroma is big on barrel character. Lots of oak mingling with funky brett. The A touch of cough syrup comes out as it warms. Light vinous note, mild apricot, pear, apple. Quite dry. Tannic oak bitterness. Earthy and funky. There’s some mild saison character but the barrel comes on a bit strong, particularly as the beer warms up. When colder, some of the grain sweetness shows through, but that’s pretty much gone at room temp. Some body but mouthfeel is generally light. Normal carbonation. Still good, but it’s my least favorite of the four Récolte Du Bois bottles on shelves.

"Tap at brewery: Lightly wild, from the yeast strain used....a touch of brett and oak, mellow but complex. Gives the impression of herbs and spices that aren’t even there. I dig the yeast, this is pretty nice stuff. Can’t wait for fruited varieties readying themselves in barrels as I type :)"

12oz bottle pours hazy dark orange with a small head. Nose is fruity earthy vinous oak, subtle tart funk, light grape, hay and musty grain. Taste is earthy fruity grain, some musty wood funk, subtle tartness, red grape, wine, light dough. Finish is dry with soft tartness and good vinous earthy fruit funk influence. Nice offering.

Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland. Pours a clean light golden color with a finger of fizzy white foam. Nose is full of round pineapple, hints of horsehair, vinous fruit and dusty grain. Palate follows with nice crisp carbonation, layers of rustic grain, clean focused malt and cabernet complexity. Really nice cabernet influence on the beer considering the style its a strange but successful combination !

Gold pour little head. Aroma burnt rubber, armpit, sour grain. Tastes buttery cabernet, sulfur, distinct bretta. Disappointed in how harsh this is; example of barreling gone wrong.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma has a nice wine and wine barrel character with some light pale grain notes. Medium light stone fruit and light citrus. Light phenolics. Pours a moderately cloudy, pale yellow gold with a medium sized, fluffy white head that shows pretty good retention. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with faint acidity. Medium light pale malt character and slightly breast. Medium oak and wine barrel character with medium light tannins. Light citrus and phenolic character. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an a nice beer, but after having all four in the series it seems like the wine barrel is the most dominant characteristic. The base beer is nice, but nothing amazing. Yeast character is good but not amazing.

Bottle. Hazy golden butterscotch, medium pdf white head, dissipates fairly quickly, nice lacing. Aroma is tart peach, apricot, lemon, funk, basement, oak. Flavor is funky, light tart, dry, a bit of Windex initially. Some fruitiness, but less than aroma. Light body, dry funky finish. A bit watery
