A type of lager beer made from barley malt, hops and ponlai rice, with a golden hue and unique taste, it is honored world-wide.

Light gold color with decent foam. Malty aroma for sure, piney grassy notes. Same Asian lager flavor is not distinctive. Dry finish.

Definitely not the worst cheap lager I’ve had but certainly not the best either. Pretty forgettable all around. Easy to drink and refreshing I guess.

This flavour of Taiwan beer suits me better, it's more bitter then the gold medal kind which most bars serve in Taiwan

Clear medium amber with poured head that quickly drops to no head, no lace. No life in appearance or aroma. Taste is bigger than expected, but the rice is noticeable. Nothying changes until a slight bittering shows in the finish. Nice to "capture" Taiwan, but the brew doesn’t measure up.

Bottle. Dark gold color. Medium head. Aroma is grainy. Slightly sweet. Taste is light molasses, hay. Better than most Chinese beers.

Bottle courtesy of Drake, thank you sir! clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of straw, corn, lager. Taste typical of most international lagers from non beer countries. Not quite tasty enough for me to want to seek out the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corp brewpub.

Bottle from Bestway shared at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of grainy, dusty malts, sweet malts. The taste is sweet malts, mild green hops. Medium bodied.

As a Taiwanese, I have to say it’s classic, though not the best one. All in all, it’s an ordinary lager, but more bitter than usual stuff.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2013 The aroma is skunky and has a hint of bread malts, and the appearance is a straw golden color with a small white head that is fleeting. The taste quite sour and mildly sweet, and the palate combines a medium body, slick and thin texture, average carbonation, and a slightly sour finish.
