A type of lager beer made from barley malt, hops and ponlai rice, with a golden hue and unique taste, it is honored world-wide.

It comes in a nice bottle with a cool logo that says "Gold Medal", and "World Class Beer", but they could honestly say whatever they want; "The First Beer in Space", "Ancient Indochine Cure For Cancer", or "The Presidentís Favorite Beer". What matters though is the beer itself, and unfortunately it is kind of gross, and now I have a pint of it to choke down.

Light beer with not much in the way of flavor. A little sweet and nothing interesting.

Can from a local shop in Taipei. Clear light golden with a white head. A typical boring Asian Lager. Thin and sweet with cardboard, light fruit and metal. Really boring.

My favourite beer in Taiwan as it ís easy to drink, available everywhere including nestled in the fishmongers ice displays at night markets, and itís dirt cheap. Produces up a clear, yellow gold with a silky white foam that holds. Slightly weedy and herbal, green tea nose. Soft, almost creamy mouthfeel. Watery and drawn for flavour. Soft leafiness to the back with a medial bitterness. Clean with not much going on. Dry, powdered grain midpalate. A turn your brain off and drink kind of beer. (64cL bottle & 33cL can)

Can from Taiwan brough to UK by friends. My RB country #124. Poured a pale yellow gold colour with little by way of head. Vague aroma of malt and grass. Medium sweet with some bitterness. Light body, thin texture. Great to have as a country tick but thatís about all.

Drank during my Taiwan wedding reception during "gambai" where I had to chug a glass with a new uncle. Pours a clear pale yellow with a white head. Plenty of carbonation. Aroma is slightly metallic, slightly corny. Taste is pretty bland. Carbonation lifts any flavored away and is pretty abrasive. Not as good as the gold metal.

330ml can in hk. Pours clear gold with thin white head. Aroma is corn and straw. Taste is not bad actually. Not as watery as some crappy Asian lagers. Highly carbonated.

Kolor - ciemnozłoty, klarowny. Piana - drobna, średniowysoka, średniotrwała. Zapach - słodowo-chmielowy. Smak - wyraźny słůd, lekka nuta miodowa, średni chmiel, średnia słodycz, lekka goryczka. Poprawne, pijalne piwo.

I am sure this blows stateside but it is good, cheap beer when itís fresh. It is very much in the European pilsner-ish style with a nice touch of floral, grassy hops in the nose--though it is not a pilsner by any means. It is nice and dry with crisp carbonation and a touch of cereal grains.

Bottle at Sergioís, Louisville KY. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (wort, grain, husks), with a note of paper. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean, husky. Light body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. A shameless country tick. Obviously kinda old but clearly garbage.
