COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just like those classic video games we all grew up with, 8-Bit Pale Ale is spectacularly simple at first glance yet remarkably fun and complex when you get into it. Our Hop Rocket infuses the character of Australian grown Galaxy Hops into an American Pale Ale, giving a unique tropical, almost melon aroma in a classic American style.

Shared can at Papsoe’s summer tasting. Pours a shimmering bright gold, topped by a low blond head. Light fruity hop aroma; Tropical, oranges and faint lemon. Medium malt body, lightly toasted with a caramel note. Clean fruity bitterness. Balanced malty/bitter ending. A decent, straightforward pale ale. [14.07.12]

16 oz. can. It pours a bright orange color with a nice white head. The aroma has some dry grainy malts with some orange, spicy hops, and a touch of florals. Not really that strong on the aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same with stronger bitterness than I expected. Good hop flavor with noticeable, floral and orange with some citrus rind in the finish. Dry grainy malts come through. Dry finish. I was surprised there were Galaxy hops in here, as I didn’t pick up much tropical fruit. Just the orange. Overall, this was a nice enjoyable APA.

Can from a generous trader - backlog from a tasting. Pours gold with white head. Nose and taste of grassy hops, light resin, malt, florals and grain. Medium body.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2013 Hazy gold, heady from a can, good lacing. Kind of a dry toasty, hoppy aroma with fruit/floral,spice,slight funk almost but with subtle melon/bubblegum,not picking up the tropical much. Taste is foamy/soft but dry toasty/hoppy with a very dry finish, mildly grassy but almost strong citrus bitter. Some sweetness. Real dry and woody-seems oxidized maybe.Foamy but dry and light tasting with strong hoppiness. Not bad. Good for a lighter type pale ale.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2012 Big fat foamy head, nice lacing down the glass. A cloudy, light/golden amber. Hoppy Aroma. The finish is a bit on the harsh side.

Can. Pours a hazy light orange color with big fluffy white head that diminishes quickly and stays at about half a finger. I don’t get a lot in the nose so it must not be the freshest, but I’ve had before so rating from what I remember as well. Smells of biscuit and citrus. Similar in the taste with a very strong grapefruit present at the end. Overall a very nice pale ale.

Can thanks to 17thfloor. Awesome can by the way. Pours a bright slightly hazy golden orange with a small lingering white head. Aroma is floral and a bit grassy, nice soft malt backbone. Flavor has plenty of grassiness with some sweet bready and honey notes. Finishes with some citrus and light bitterness. Medium body and a sharp carbonation.

Sweet looking can and uses the hop rocket for brewing. This is by far one of my favorite beers for pale ales.
