Just like those classic video games we all grew up with, 8-Bit Pale Ale is spectacularly simple at first glance yet remarkably fun and complex when you get into it. Our Hop Rocket infuses the character of Australian grown Galaxy Hops into an American Pale Ale, giving a unique tropical, almost melon aroma in a classic American style.

Thanks to unclemike for this one! Cheers, Mike! Pours a hazy orange with an off-white head. Nose is a little bit of malt with some piney hop bite with hints of herbs. Flavor is similar- light malt up front followed by grapefruit and pine bitterness on the back end. A kind of West Coast pale. Light to medium in body with lingering grapefruit hops.

Poured from a 16oz can into pint/shaker glass. Appearance: Golden/yellow with an amber hue to it. Not much head on this but what head came out was very tight, white bubbles. Decent head lacing nothing too crazy. Overall a very soapy looking head. Have a few streams of carbonation coming from the bottom and sides of the glass. Aroma: First smell is kind of sweet. You pick up a little bit from the hops. It gives it a fruity smell. Hint of sweetness. Nice smelling beer just nothing very powerful. Taste: Again the front of the tongue comes up with a sweet, fruitiness. Not real complex, has a little hop bitterness on the back end. A very nice drinkable APA. Verdict: Another very good brew from Tallgrass. It doesn't set any precedents at all but it does serve its purpose. It's great drinking without having the bitter hop bite at the end like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale has. That always has an almost cologne tasting back end that this does not seem to have. Great afternoon drinker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light orange and cloudy pour from the 16oz can. Minimal white head. Very grassy and wheat aroma. Grassy and citrus taste. Pretty good beer. Thought I was getting into an IPA and was surprised pleasantly when I saw it was and APA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Burnhearts through an apricot and sage infuser (I think). Hazy straw yellow with a foamy bone topper that leaves plenty of lace. Aroma is grainy with light fruit, apricot and mild spices. Taste is grainy with pale malt, fruit and mild bitterness.

Fruity, tangy aroma. Hazy amber color. Good amount of hop flavor for an APA. The hop profile is a bit sweet and melony. Good balance and just the right amount of hoppy aftertaste. Solid beer all around. Not sure u noticed the difference of using the Galaxy hops as much as I thought I would.

Very nice pale ale. Serious dosage of hops gives it a floral, grassy, and fruity taste and aroma. Very nice.
