Just like those classic video games we all grew up with, 8-Bit Pale Ale is spectacularly simple at first glance yet remarkably fun and complex when you get into it. Our Hop Rocket infuses the character of Australian grown Galaxy Hops into an American Pale Ale, giving a unique tropical, almost melon aroma in a classic American style.

Draft. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

Sample from beerfest. Poured a hazy orange color with a soapy white head. Aroma was pine, floral, grass and hops. Flavor was sweeter up front with a grass, spruce finish. Not overly hoppy but enough balance to really make this beer nice. Good apa.

Can at Tanglewood. Hazy golden yellor color, huge fluffy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma of fresh lemongras. Taste is similar, very bitter finish. Nice.

Tasty pale ale with a great hop-based fruitiness. Grainy and semisweet at first, 8-Bit quickly develops a citric hop middle, before fading into a grassy, grapefruit fade. Nice geek packaging too.

Can via Mark and Matty. Pours a hazy orange with big white head. Nose is floral, some citrus, pine, a little bit of malt. Taste is hop forward with pine, not a lot of citrus, some peanut and slight salt. Overall, very nice Pale Ale and love the can!

Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed at a north woods condo on a wedding weekend in St. Germain, WI. Couldn’t pass this one up due to the awesome artwork. Appearance is a slightly cloudy golden hay with a thin white head. Aroma of light hay, grassy hops, kind of grainy, nice light smell. Taste is pretty crisp with a light bitterness and a touch of lemon. There is something very filling about this one, in a different review the word ’biscuit’ was used and that must be it. Pretty good stuff, I can see this be refreshing on a nice hot summer day.

One of my favorite IPAs. Served from a can. Pours orange, some lacing, finger of foam. Strong hoppy aroma. Sharp grassy hoppy taste, light citrus lingers.

Can at Sycamore in Columbia. Yellow pour, white head. It’s a bright, citrusy pale ale. Fresh and mildly bitter at the finish.

On tap at The Flying Saucer in Little Rock. Pours a crystal clear, pale gold colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is lighter with some grainy pale malts, some grassy citrus, and a few florals. Flavor is better with a nice grassy crispness up front as well as some citruses before a light grainy pale malt comes in with some florals and a few tropical fruits. Finishes crisp and clean with a moderate, grassy bitterness alongside a pleasant citrus and some tropical fruits. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a very clean, crisp, and easy drinking pale ale with a nice citrus and tropical fruit hop character. Pretty enjoyable.
