COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just like those classic video games we all grew up with, 8-Bit Pale Ale is spectacularly simple at first glance yet remarkably fun and complex when you get into it. Our Hop Rocket infuses the character of Australian grown Galaxy Hops into an American Pale Ale, giving a unique tropical, almost melon aroma in a classic American style.

Draft at Burger Joint in the Ogilve Transportation Center, Chicago. A "mere" pale ale smell, not big on hops at first. A cloudy gold color, and the usual thin, sudsy IPA head. But once in my mouth, the large hop note grabs on and doesnít let go. Big chunk of citrus and resin. I had not read the description before trying, so I thought it was just an overload of the usual Three Cís. Settles into a coating of pine tar on the palate, then some orange peel. Jealous that this train terminal now clearly has better beer than Union Station. All we can muster is The Snuggery.

16 oz can poured into a tulip-style pint glass. Thanks to my friend Ed for the trade. Clear yellow with 3-4 fingers of off-white head. Aromas of aged hops, biscuit, light citrus fruit and peel. Tastes of biscuit, citrus fruit and peel, aged hops. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Probably past prime but no best by date.

Can. Clear light Amber pour. Massive pillowy off-white head. Lots of lacing. Estery nose. Faint grassy hop, and pale malt. Medium mouthfeel. Lots of tropical fruit and grassy hops. Almost no bitterness intially, but it slowly builds into the finish which is slightly malty/crackery sweet and faintly bitter. Different but not bad. Sessionable.

16oz can. Pours orangish with a small white head. Aroma is of hops, grapefruit, grass, and bread. Also a little cantaloupe. Taste is of hops, slight citrus, and a lot of grass. Slight hop burn in the finish. Not all that much in the taste. Mouthfeel is medium, and the finish is dry. Body is medium, with a fair amount of carbonation. Itís pretty bland. Itís not bad, thereís just not much there.

Can: Pours amber-orange with a small white head. Orange-peel scent.... Taste is orange malt, lime...light caramel/grain malt. Very light and cool feeling...nicely refreshing.... Good, soft citrus-peel bittering.
