COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BUFFALO SWEAT
(ABV 5.0%, 20 IBU)

We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Can’t find the sweat? Don’t sweat it. Just ask for Buffalo Sweat at your local liquor store or your favorite tavern.

Tall boy can poured into glass. Had a friend bring back some of this from KS, what a guy! Super creamy with an aroma full of chocolate and malt. Down right tasty in every sense of the phrase.

Appearance: Dark brown brew, appears surprisingly bubbly, and capped with a medium-sized, light khaki head.

Smell: Mild aroma altogether. Roasted malted barley with very thin notes of block chocolate, coffee hit with a little cream. Light hint of fruitiness. Not much happening here, I’m afraid.

Taste: Begins with a nice pop of chocolate, then, some coffee. Slight creaminess. Moderate sweetness throughout. Light molasses. Very little fruitiness showing a bit of prune. Low hop character, bitterness. Malty, mildly roasty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Fairly good. While light in the aromatics department, it was solid in flavor. A bit more carbonation than anticipated, not that I found that to be disagreeable.

Nutty expresso on the front, milk chocolate on the back-end. Just a touch too sweet after multiple drinks. Can. Smells subpar. Tastes pretty alright by comparison.

Can. Dark brown, very dark, with a light brown head. Prominent roast profile with a lower-key lactic sweetness that hits it just right for me. In other words, not TOO sweet, but a solid stout with sweet tendencies.... Whatever, I liked it. It was good. Not overly complex, but good. Creamy mouthfeel.

Pint can->SA. Deep brown with frothy tan head. Aroma: coffee, toasted malt, hints of chocolate. Taste: coffee and chocolate. Medium body. Very smooth, but finish is a little thin and bitter.

Appearance: very dark brown with caramel highlights; half a finger of chocolate milk colored head, and minimal lacing. Aroma: smells awesome, with scads of milk and dark chocolate, cream, pumpernickel toast, and a bit of coffee. Taste: bittersweet melted chocolate, cream, roasted coffee beans, a hint of burnt toast. Finish: clean and slightly sweet, giving way to a delicately dry bitterness; surprisingly, the first burp had a hint of pine boughs. Notes: Awesome stout. Not a big, knock-your-socks-off boozer, but rather a smooth, slightly sweet, deliciously drinkable beer. Would definitely drink again.

Not too bad. Finished smooth but not much of a note of any roast, choco, etc. I feel it’d fare better on tap.

Brown red pour with tan head and lace. Chocolate and toasted malt on the nose. Chocolate, toasted malt, light coffee, and a good malt bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

Deep dark brown body with a bit of lighter brown noticeable at the bottom with a thick, luscious four centimetre tall nice light brown head. Aroma of sweet caramel, brown sugar, roasted malt, milk and a bit of nice earthiness. Medium-bodied; Assertive sweetness up front with milk, caramel, toffee and a little oatmeal noticeable, tucked away by some good roasty flavours, a hint of coffee and a bit of nuts. Aftertaste shows mostly sweetness with some milk flavours and the slightest hint of bitterness. Overall, a nice and relatively easy drinking stout - definitely on the sweeter side. I sampled this pint sized can, purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 24-October-2012 for US$2.49 sampled at home in Washington on 15-December-2012.

This beer is black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma isn’t too strong or too muted, but the actual scent is a complex combination of caramel, vanilla, and toasty scents. When the beer hits your tongue, it is of a medium body with a very soft carbonation, yet it is slick and slightly sweet. The finish of this beer is hearty and more roasty than the initial taste would make you think. Surprisingly, it is quite easy to drink for a dark beer because of how thin yet hearty it is.
