BUFFALO SWEAT
(ABV 5.0%, 20 IBU)

We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those ďIíve never-tasted-a-beer-like-thatĒ kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Canít find the sweat? Donít sweat it. Just ask for Buffalo Sweat at your local liquor store or your favorite tavern.

Roasted malt aroma and flavor. Not particular exciting but canít be faulted. Good standard stout . A bit sweater than your average stout.

The name doesnít make it sound very appetizing does it?

The beer pours basically black with a medium head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is very roasty with lots of coffee character. At times it seems over roasty, which is something that is usually more troublesome in flavor rather than aroma but this beer smells almost burnt and really quite unappealing at times. Itís weird because itís sort of nutty and coffee like with some sweet notes in one whiff and itís great then the next whiff it smells like a burnt up mess, weird.

The flavor is very nice, heavy on roast but not overdone as the aroma would suggest, nicely bitter, but the sweetness goes a long way in balancing that without being overbearing. The beer is certainly coffee and chocolate forward.

The palate is rich and creamy and the low carbonation carries it well across the tongue.

16oz can from Three Cellars. Pours dark brown with a cafe au lait head. Aroma has sweet smelling chocolate and roasted malts, perhaps molasses. Taste is of chocolate syrup, molasses and caramel. Quite sweet and a bit thin for a stout. Finishes lactosy sweet and medium length, with the only tinge of bitterness I get ... way, way back in the end. Almost no alcohol presence. Super sweet. More malt body perhaps would have set this up to be a really good one.

Aroma is chocolate malts and coffee bitterness. The flavor is chocolate, cream, sweetness and a fruit/acidity in the finish.

I wouldnít have bought this if I knew it had lactose; Iíll pay for it later. Deep black color, not much aroma - a little sweet coffee. Flavor is lightly roasty, coffee and dark malt. Underwhelming. It seems to be all about the texture, which is very smooth but has no reason for its existence. Too smooth, sweet and thick to stand up to the one-dimensional flavor. This would be much better with oatmeal instead of the lactose, and a bit more roasted barley.

Pours a nice dark brown with a brown head. Very rich aroma, leans towards molasses, chocolate, prunes and lactose. Flavor is so smooth, sweet with lactose, milk chocolate, light raisiny notes. Such an easy drinking beer but bold at the same time.
