3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I believe this is another tick of a box fulla ticks sent by the incomparable Jzzbassman. Dark brown with orange tints. Light tan head that poof, is gone to thick lace. Nose is malty, brown sugar and dark fruit sweet. Caramel and coffee. Alcohol hints. Taste is big candy sweet and milky back. Really nice. High sugar in the mouth. Lots of roastiness, but sweet prevails. Nice sweet stout.

2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Can: Charcoal and coffee nose. Black, thin tan head. Sweet coffee flavor, strong vegetal component. Lasting coffee finish. Certainly a sweet stout, but there are some glaring flaws. Bad sample, but I think the recipe is probably solid. The boiled cabbage just doesnít belong. Tainted and the Oasis ESB is better.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Darkish brown, very close to black in appearance. The aroma is robust, with caramel malt along with light herbal hops and a hint of coffee. As I sip, I get more coffee aroma, and some more o. The taste is slightly savory, no sourness, and only a little bitter. Palate is average. Overall, Iím impressed by this beer, probably my favorite from Tallgrass; adhering well to the standard of sweet stouts, but not a stereotypical one. Definitely try it out if you get a chance.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
1 pint can poured into an English Pint at 50į. Color is black with good carbonation and a small tight tan head. Aroma is a burnt coffee scent with a sweet chocolate note. Bold medium body that goes down crisp yet has a smooth mouth feel. Flavor is deeply roasted giving a nice coffee taste with sweet vanilla and a hint of fruit that reminds me of orange/chocolate candy. The hops show with a faint spiciness and mellow bitterness. After taste is clean, the sweet flavors build up a bit then step back and let the bitterness hanging around. Overall I like it, its a tasty take on a Sweet Stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 ounce can, 11 238 stamped on the bottom side of it. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is roasted malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, and some coffee. The taste is just like the aroma, with a good balance between the sweet and bitter flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a little on the thin side but also a bit coating with moderate carbonation. Itís smooth and very easy to drink. I think itís a solid overall brew, Iíd buy this again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
16oz. can. I finally decided not to let the name dissuade me from trying this stuff. Sweet, milk chocolate aroma, roasty and creamy with lighter notes of coffee and caramel. Black in color with dark brown highlights, head is off-white, fine and lasting. Flavor is decidedly sweet and chocolatey, these aspects dominating throughout, with lighter amounts of roastiness and faint coffee towards the finish, also a tinge of bitterness appearing here. Smooth, light and creamy on the palate, body is light-medium. Perhaps not a lot going on here, but pleasant enough and certainly easy to quaff.
