COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BUFFALO SWEAT
(ABV 5.0%, 20 IBU)

We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Can’t find the sweat? Don’t sweat it. Just ask for Buffalo Sweat at your local liquor store or your favorite tavern.

Date: August 10, 2011 Mode: Draft Source: Grandma’s Sports Garden, Duluth, MN Appearance: Opaque dark brown with no head. Aroma: Strong coffee. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, smooth, light bodied and a little watery. Other: Not a big fan, seemed like more of a porter than stout.

Good, unique stout. There are better out there, but for the price ($8.99 most places for 4 tall cans) this beer has great value. TONS of malt in this; however, the sugar and vanilla notes give it a unique, sweet flavor. Worth the money, but if you have the cash...there are better oatmeal stouts.

Got this on tap at the local Old Chicago as one of their rotating locals. Color was dark brown with deep red undertones. Nice light brown creamy head, not too much lacing. Great smell - coffee, roasted chocolate, faint hoppiness. Taste is even stronger than smell - coffee, chocolate, light hops, sweet taste with a very smooth and creamy finish. Great stout.

I’m just going to state this right up front—not my style of beer. I didn’t care much for this but that has nothing to do with Tallgrass per se.

Nice sweet malty nose. Flavor of roasted malt and vanilla. Goes down smooth and has great mouth feel. Nice for a low abv

Strikes me as a milk stout. Sweet stout flavor, with a modicum of roasty bitterness. Surprisingly rich mouthfeel for such a low ABV of 5%. I'm not sure if Tallgrass can do any wrong -- I have yet to have an average beer from them. This one is tasty, and a quite nice session stout. Very smooth; very drinkable! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can to glass. Dark with a tan head. A bit of a caramel nose with a hint of vanilla. A slight sweetness into the mouth and a pleasant mild bitterness on the swallow into the aftertaste. Tastes a bit like a nut brown, only milder. Good beer and would drink again.

Love this beer. Great pour, great aromas, and beautiful color, and head, to the top of the glass. Very smooth

This is my first try at the sweetgrass brewery. This beer is pretty good, don’t mistake it for guiness, but it actually has a better flavor to me. I know that is blasphemy but I think think one has just tastes better by itself.

16oz can. Very good overall. Deep brown color with a tan head. Almost like a thick, rich brown with the sweetness / smoothness. Rich.

Dark brown pour, quickly fading off-white head with some nice lacing on the glass. Interesting aroma. Roast, brown rice (not in a bad way, reminds me of some brands of Japanese tea that have brown rice added), a little chocolate. Taste is very similar. The roast/brown rice flavors dominate, and there is a nice, sweet, drawn out finish. Mouthfeel is subpar for an oatmeal stout, but not bad. Nice beer, and relatively unique in my view.
