We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those ďIíve never-tasted-a-beer-like-thatĒ kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

It pours medium brown with a thin, fizzy foam. Roasty, meaty, more unpleasant than pleasant aroma. Itís thin, fizzy mouthfeel really ruins this beer for me. The chocolatey, roasted barley flavor is pretty damn good but alas, it cannot salvage this quite forgetable example of a sweet stout.

Can. Dark brown with a small yet creamy head. Aroma was chocolate mocha and toast. Taste was mocha, dark roasted grains and a slightly sweet upfront flavor and a burnt toast bitter finish.

Canned (backlog). Deep brown, close to black colour with a beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some nutty notes as well as tobacco and liquorice. Flavour is very similar along with some nice burnt wet wooden notes as well as mild coffee too.

Single can from Binnyís, Downers Grove. Frothy brown head over a brownish black body. Chocolate nose, but not quite as roasty, thanks to the oatmeal. I note the texture first, since itís been carbonated, and thatís worth noting after so many stouts with nitro and widgets. But itís also leaving some stickiness on my lip and has a hint of a tangy Guinness sour note, followed more of that chocolate roast. Then there is a slight note of vanilla once my palate has been brought into equilibrium. An enjoyable session beer to welcome back cold weather, though being in a full pint can may make it seem a bit less sessionable.

Roasted aroma, with a hint of milk chocolate. Pours an opaque black with a full tan head. Slightly sweet flavor, nicely balanced by roasted notes. Lighter in body then one would expect upon looking at it, with a full mouthfeel. Very nice and approachable stout.

Pint can. Opaque ebony with a lasting thin covering of foam. Nose is nearly charred grain, dusty grain, and old coffee. Tastes of semi-sweet chocolate, dark roast coffee, caramel, lightly tart berry and bitterish green herb. Near-medium body has a medium-high but mostly smooth carbonation. Nice balance and pretty drinkable.

Deep in color with just some red edges. Medium mouthfeel reminds me of an Irish but with some more body. Light finish I would not characterize as sweet but still tasty.

Can to glass. Pours a glassy brown with a small, quickly disappearing khaki head. Aroma is primary vanilla and coffee. Taste is similar, with a little less sweetness than the aroma. Good example of the style.

pint can poured into tulip glass. Murky brown color with tan head. ARoma is caramel, cola, light coffee and earthy. Taste is a bit boring without any real flaws just kind of 2009.

Can. Pours brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is bready malt and roast. Medium mouth, strong roast, cocoa, light dryness, good.
