Excellent dark, chocolatey taste and pretty creamy mouthfeel. Could stand to be a bit heavier in body and with less bitterness, but a good cream stout nonetheless! Good sweet flavor.

I wouldn’t have bought this if I knew it had lactose; I’ll pay for it later. Deep black color, not much aroma - a little sweet coffee. Flavor is lightly roasty, coffee and dark malt. Underwhelming. It seems to be all about the texture, which is very smooth but has no reason for its existence. Too smooth, sweet and thick to stand up to the one-dimensional flavor. This would be much better with oatmeal instead of the lactose, and a bit more roasted barley.

pours dark brown with a small tan head. This beer is creamy and nutty, very sweet and chocolatety, with a nice roasted and coffee tastes. The only thing lacking is there is not enough carbonation in this beer.

Can pour. Black with light beige head. Aroma is chocolate. Taste is chocolate with a pleasant sweetness, and a bitterness that matches the 20 IBUs. Mouthfeel is right down the middle, thin for a stout and not as creamy as I had hoped. Excellent carbonation. Refreshing taste. The low ABV makes it an excellent choice for a sessionable stout.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Darkish brown, very close to black in appearance. The aroma is robust, with caramel malt along with light herbal hops and a hint of coffee. As I sip, I get more coffee aroma, and some more o. The taste is slightly savory, no sourness, and only a little bitter. Palate is average. Overall, I’m impressed by this beer, probably my favorite from Tallgrass; adhering well to the standard of sweet stouts, but not a stereotypical one. Definitely try it out if you get a chance.
