COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BUFFALO SWEAT
(ABV 5.0%, 20 IBU)

We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those “I’ve never-tasted-a-beer-like-that” kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Can’t find the sweat? Don’t sweat it. Just ask for Buffalo Sweat at your local liquor store or your favorite tavern.

Moderate smell of caramel, hazelnut coffee and cream. Milldly bitter and sweet with some smoke and a vegetal quality. Chakka like.

Mild aromas of grain, earth & smoke. Jet black pour with little to no head. Malty, yeasty, earthy, tastes. Weak palate with a very thin mouthfeel. Overall a easy drinking stout.

Excellent dark, chocolatey taste and pretty creamy mouthfeel. Could stand to be a bit heavier in body and with less bitterness, but a good cream stout nonetheless! Good sweet flavor.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2012 On tap. Aroma chocolate and coffee. Dark brown with frothy tan head. Tastes sweet with hints of chocolate and coffee. My favorite Tallgrass beer.

Very dark, almost completely black and opaque. Good head that dissipated and left a thin film on top. Lacing that creeps back down the glass. Smells of slightly sweet bitter roasted malts with a touch of coffee. Tastes much like the smell, but with some dark chocolate character that adds nicely to the dark roasted malts, coffee, minimal hops. It’s sweet, although not especially so for the style. This adds a nice dimension as it’s a bit different than what I expected. It’s a very flavorful beer. Feels quite thick and full bodied going in, but slightly watery when you swallow. Slightly slick on the tongue, with a very pleasant lingering sweet aftertaste. Very nice and highly drinkable. The moderate ABV makes it easy to drink while the delicious but not overpowering flavor makes me want to have this one again. Value: 6.85 for four 16 oz cans. A good deal.

Bottle. Drinkable, but a tad too sweet. I was tired of it before I finished my first glass. This is the beer for soda drinkers or for those afraid of stouts.

Nice aroma of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Ebony with a nice whitish tan head. Roasted malt, on the semi sweet side up front. Sweetness is muted. Notes of dark choclate and coffee. Finsihes slightly dry, with a sweet coffee flavor, and some sublte bitterness. Watery mouth feel. O.k.

Pint can to a tulip. The beer pours a super dark brown with a thick tan head that leaves little lacing. Right off the bad I can smell sweet cream, oats, and cocoa. This beer is very fragrant and smells awesome. Taste is creamy chocolate and cocoa up front. It picks up roasted coffee flavors as well as roasted barley and oats. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin but it fits this beer well. It remains very creamy and the flavors linger in your mouth a while. Very nice.

Bottled. Pours black with a medium brown head. Smells of coffee, oatmeal and chocolate. Flavors of burnt/toasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Not as sweet as i was expecting. Finished strong with a lingering taste of mocha.

Mahogony trimmed black body beneath a fading 1.5" light khaki head leaving flat dense shallow lace all around

Aroma of creamy lactic blending caramel notes and pleasant chocolate cake with a controlled dark chocolate-coffee influence introducing subtle bitter nuance on a light-medium, mildly carbonated body finishing with hints of dark fruit, and a touch of vanilla, smooth chocolate on the dark side of sweet rounding out, solid session

16oz can at 45º into 16.5oz Stölze Berlin
