First had it on tap at Doolittles in Eagan. Ask the bartender what that was he described it as a Guiness but not as hoppy. Had a great pour and the aroma was toasty and dark cola color. I was suprise how smooth it was and not too hoppy. Real refreshing. So good I bought the kit at Northern Brewer and brewed it.

Roasted malt aroma and flavor. Not particular exciting but canít be faulted. Good standard stout . A bit sweater than your average stout.

Great beer from Manhattan, Kansas! What an unexpected surprise. Smooth, balanced, malty, more chocolate than coffee, and absolutely delicious. I could drink these all night.

Uniquely different and easy to drink. Big hints of coffee up front both in smell and taste, a chocolaty goodness thatís not too carbonated and with only a touch of bitter after taste. Donít let the name dissuade you. Itís well worth a taste.

Good, unique stout. There are better out there, but for the price ($8.99 most places for 4 tall cans) this beer has great value. TONS of malt in this; however, the sugar and vanilla notes give it a unique, sweet flavor. Worth the money, but if you have the cash...there are better oatmeal stouts.

Pours very dark brown, no light coming through it, 2 finger khaki head. I love the aroma on this beer, lots of roasted goodness here, some sweetness as well. Taste is chocolate, little bit of coffee, pretty sweet. Good body, love this beer!

Great Stout! Smooth finish, with all the characteristics you look for in a great craft brew stout. great chocolate, oatmeal aroma to it. Will have again.

The name is catchy, and the beer is ok, but it is more of a cross between a brown and a stout. The hops are too far roasted and too much maltiness, not sweet but something that would compliment sweet. It would be a great base for adding to an ice cream. In fact the buffalo sweat cream stout version is almost a desert beer. The finish is very earthy but also with a bit much smoke. I would never drink more than one in a setting.

Listen, I understand why beer snobs donít show more love for this beer as it is not all that amazing but finer craft beers usually are not "ballgame" beers that is you canít toss back a six pack during a game because they are just too rich. This is a ballgame beer that tastes great. I can drink several and not feel like I just ate a pound of chocolate.

Poured from the can into a goblet. Minimal head but a nice ring around the edge and decent lacing. Smell is faint, could be a lot stronger. Taste is good, decent body but not as thick as others. Pretty smooth finish. Overall a tasty beer, and at only 5% ABV it is a nice change of pace from the heavy imperial stouts Iíve been having lately.
