3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not an overly impressive stout, but solid. Pours black with almost no head to speak off. It smells of roasted malts and some chocolate malts, the beer is fairly roasted with some chocolate and lactose sweetness, the beer has good consistency

From 16 oz. can to tulip. Pours a medium brown with moderate head. Sweet and funky on the nose. Not really pleasant in the aroma, taste or finish. Would not purchase. Pass.

Pours very dark red with an ivory head. The nose is mostly chocolate a touch of coffee, as you would expect. Tastewise, chocolate dominates, with a nice sweet background that fills out the body and makes this a very easy beer to drink. Very nice.

This is my first try at the sweetgrass brewery. This beer is pretty good, donít mistake it for guiness, but it actually has a better flavor to me. I know that is blasphemy but I think think one has just tastes better by itself.

The cream does go a crazy long way in this beer. The roasted maltiness adds a great chocolate flavor that the sugar balances out.

Can pour into pint glass. Pours a pitch dark color with a thin and reedy off white head. Nose is milk chocolate and filter coffee. A very smooth cream stout with a great lactose feel to it. No real hop presence here, with only a limited bitterness. But hops are not what you came for here. Solid.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I wouldnít have bought this if I knew it had lactose; Iíll pay for it later. Deep black color, not much aroma - a little sweet coffee. Flavor is lightly roasty, coffee and dark malt. Underwhelming. It seems to be all about the texture, which is very smooth but has no reason for its existence. Too smooth, sweet and thick to stand up to the one-dimensional flavor. This would be much better with oatmeal instead of the lactose, and a bit more roasted barley.

Deep dark brown pour with plenty of light toffee colored head. Aroma of vanilla, heavy cream, soft chocolate. Flavor is like a super creamy chocolate mocha, hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, whipped cream.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown-black pour with soft off-white head. Fresh roast malt, light vanilla creation and brown sugar sweetness. Flavor is light roast malt/coffee and lactose cream with a bitter chocolate finish. Clean and semi-rich. Nice.

Theyíve got the color right for sure with a black pour and some deep brown on the edges. Lots of roasted and smokey oatmeal in the nose. Surprisingly creamy with some delightful chocolate and strong coffee flavors. The coffee really lingers. Mouthfeel is a bit light for as dark as this is, but itís really tasty and goes down rather easily.
Overall, I think itís great. Smooth, not too big, bold and well balanced flavors. Iím a fan!
