3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Exceptionally beautiful pour for an American stout ... towering head of off-white foam over a pitch-black brew. The aroma is full of warming roasts. Although a little thin, the beer drinks with a nice rounded roasty flavor as well ... with a moderate bitter chocolate finish. Good stuff. (#4137, 6/12/2011)

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a white head. The aroma is coffee, toffee and chocolate. A very nice smelling stout.
The flavor is coffee, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. This beer is a malt bomb and all of the various malt flavors work very well together.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Perfectly black body with a thin medium khaki head on top. The nose is sweet caramel flavored coffee. There is also a little bit of raw soybean. The taste is like lightly sweetened coffee with a fair amount of caramel. There is also some light tobacco. A decent sweet stout with some notes of milk chocolate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours a dark brown color with a thin off-white head and not much retention or lacing. The nose is nice and creamy with a bit of chocolate and coffee. The sweetness comes through in the nose, and then hits a bit harder in the flavor. The chocolate and coffee interacted better in the nose, and the flavor lacked that complexity. Feel was nice and creamy with a medium body. Overall, pretty nice and enjoyable.
