We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those ďIíve never-tasted-a-beer-like-thatĒ kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

12oz bottle. Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is quite nice actually. Lots of rich and sweet milk chocolates, some caramel and creamy roasts, and a light coffee and cream. Flavor is sweeter milk chocolate up front with a bit of a watery metal. A mildly sweet caramel comes in during the middle before it finishes with a slightly astringent coffee, lightly smoked tobacco roast flavor along with the sweeter chocolates and caramel. Dry with a medium, slick body. Overall, not a bad sweet stout at all. A pleasant surprise from Tallgrass. Iíve only had a few of their beers, but this is my favorite so far.

Bottled. Poured deep brown with a fine cap of tan head. The aroma was on the sweet and lightly roasty side, with milk chocolate and heavy cream leading.. a hint of sour charred black malts on the back.. sweet and desserty. The flavor found sweet chocolates and lesser vanilla at the core with milky sugars laced throughout.. touches of coffee and molasses on the edges.. finished with sweet milk chocolates and butter cream. Light-medium bodied and very sweet on the palate.. smooth flow across the palate with complementary lactose-like tanginess on the back. This was very, very drinkable.

Aroma is very roasted with notes of espresso/dark coffee and an underlying sweetness. Flavor is less pronounced, with notes of coffee, espresso, sugar and malt. Mouthfeel is thin but maintains some creamy component. Not a bad sweet stout overall, but nothing that really stands out.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Soonah. Pours dark brown with a 1/2" beige head that recedes leaving no lace. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Light to moderate palate with low level carbonation. Smooth and a bit dry, almost chalky. Sweet, milk chocolate taste with some light coffee and roasted malt.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Soonah. Pours an opaque bworn-black color with a small cream head that has fair retention. The aroma is unusual with burnt grains, rice, tea and chocolate. The flavor is similar with sweet candies, rock sugar, sweetened tea, burnt rice husks and weak coffee. The palate is just a bit thinner than I would prefer but still seems to work for this beer. The carbonation is soft. The finish is short and sweet. Overall: A very enjoyable twist on the venerable stout. Thanks.

Tap. Poured a dark black color with a smaller tam head. Aroma was creamy, roasted malts and coffee. Flavor was sweeter with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and burnt notes comoing through. A good beer. Decent beer.

16 oz. can. Pouring nearly black, close inspection reveals an extremely dark mahogany color to the body. A small, creamy head of light mocha foam settles quickly to a ramped up edge with a wispy center film. Wet arches of lacing break up into rounded flares and splotches. The nose is pretty nice, showing notes of bittersweet chocolate roast, sweetened espresso, milk sugars, and roasted caramel. Mild earthen hops support the roast in the balancing effort, but itís still largely choco-caramel driven. Flavors follow suit, giving notes of nougat, dry cocoa, and caramel, with some toasted oats and a subtle lactic sweetness. Though this is an Łber fresh can, the grain seems on the verge of turning stale. Iíd suspect that this beer wonít hold up long, but for now itís a pretty solid sweet stout. The palate is smooth and creamy, though lacking a little body and finishing a bit too sweet and sugary for my taste. Still, itís good for the style. 3rd beer from this brewery and Iíd say they make consistently good, simple, inoffensive beers.

Can from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark brown with a tan foamy head. Smells like sweet mocha. Med body with creamy carb. Sweet it is. With a lot of dark burnt malt and chocolate. Touch of coffee. And itís fairly bitter with time. Finish is pleasantly gruchy. Nice drink.
