COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BUFFALO SWEAT
(ABV 5.0%, 20 IBU)

We love this beer here at the brewery, and think you will have one of those ďIíve never-tasted-a-beer-like-thatĒ kind of moments when you try it!

What we really like about this beer is the smoothness that brewing with cream sugar brings to the palate. This smoothness balances out the copious quantities of roasted barley used in the brewing process to create a rich, complex, and delicious beer. If you have not been a stout drinker in the past, give this beer a try. It might just change your mind about how dark beers should taste. It tastes so rich, but is surprisingly easy to drink!

Canít find the sweat? Donít sweat it. Just ask for Buffalo Sweat at your local liquor store or your favorite tavern.

Nice sweet stout that doesnít have too much alcohol. Good bit of body and nice head. Pretty enjoyable.

Sample at KC Beerfest 10-22. Comes almost black with an average tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste is chocolate, caramel, coffee and malt. Medium body. Decent.

Pint can, just came in to my local liqour store. Pours dark as a stout should with ruby hues on the edges. Light tan cream colored head with loose bubbles and a little lacing. Aromas of chocolate and coffee as you pour. Taste leaves a little to be desired. Watery of sorts with a sweet front that follows throughout, the backend brings a mild spiciness from hops and the heavy roasted malt chocolate flavors. Very thin mouthfeel overall. Not a bad beer, just not consistant with what I want from my stouts.

Can. Light chocolate in the nose with some lactose notes. Dark translucent brown with a thin tan coating on top. Initial flavors are bit harsh, but things mellow out in mid and final. Light body. Pleasant enough, but not really very interesting.

[Bottle] Pours a deep brown color with a small beige head. Light aroma of chocolate and dark roasted malts. The taste is quite lactic, with dry cocoa and molasses the dominant notes. Some hazelnut and vanilla notes lingering in there as well. Thin and somewhat diluted. I was a little underwhelmed by this Tallgrass offering.

Bottle. Dark pour with an offwhite head. Aroma of mild coffee. Kind of thin and uninteresting.

In the bottle from KJís HyVee. Pours black as night with a small to medium dark beige head. Head is creamy in appearance. Mild roasted aroma. The flavor is thin. A thin roastedness and a thin tart finish. Iím not sure what they are trying to achieve with this beer, but it does not get there.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2011 Can. Pours very dark brown with a hint of red around the edges. Very small tan head. Coffee dominates the aroma. Flavor is coffee, milk chocolate, roasted malt, a bit of tartness, and a slight earthiness. Thereís a really odd flavor in here that I canít place -- sort of plasticky, burnt rubber. Finish is dry, particularly for a sweet (sweat?) stout. Body is on the light side. Not a very complex stout, but tasty. Iím fairly impressed -- but I could do without that tartness.

Pours dark brown with off white head, fizzy. Aroma is nuts, oatmeal, and some roasted malt. Taste is thin, with some roast, nutty flavors that finishes sweet. Not bad, but a bit one dimensional and thin.
