This beer was known as Area 51 IPA during development. Ethos is our new West Coast style IPA...double dry-hopped using 6 different hop varietals. Juicy, citrusy, dank.

Pours as a pretty enough pint, golden colored but bordering on an orange, itís got a big fluffy white head and has nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is fruity & juicy with some nice fresh hoppiness, it also smells a touch on the sweet side with a little bit of rust. I swear this is what it always smells like to me, Iíve had it a bunch of times.

The flavor is fruity and pretty bitter. Itís defiantly got a big flavor but the always comes across as a touch too sweet and a little bit astringent. Itís not to say that there isnít nice hop flavor, itís citrusy, grape-fruity, melony... but itís just that all these pleasantries are competing with things that I donít like, particularly when they butt up against neate hop flavor.

Gotta kinda be in the right mood to get into this one, which I have been... but maybe not usually.

An amazing beer to be enjoyed by any IPA enthusiast. While it pours a lighter amber color like most West Coast IPAs, Ethos is very flavorful. A bitter hop aroma with a sweet finish. Among the best IPAs available today. Strongly recommended.

Can. This is a good IPA thatís easily available (at least in Iowa). Pours a hazy amber color. Nice head that sticks. Nose is grapefruit with a little pineapple. Taste is bitter and sweet. Grapefruit and mango.

When this hop-head sees "110 IBUs" on a pint can, Iím plenty interested. Oddly, no ABV seems to be listed. (Iím counting on strong. It was not a good day at work.) Poured into a Goose Island pint glass that someone gave me (Honest), it has a nice look. The body is a light amber with a dash of yellow, the dense head a combination of creamy and rocky. The aroma is faint, probably because of the density of the head. The first hit is a bready yeastiness followed by a malty sweetness and... some hops, please! They are there, but not very strong... citrus? Now a splash of toffee. Time to taste. Generic malt... a bit of caramel, cookie dough. A bitterness appears next, sturdy, but doesnít seem too strong. More, please. It never happens. Have I become so jaded that this brew does little to faze or move me? Another swig íní swallow, then a mouthful to swish around. The bitterness grows, but remains unaccompanied by hop flavor or aroma that I love so much. An added point for the bite, but not much more. Hops arenít just about bitterness.

Pine, grass, and citrus on the nose. Very citrusy on the palate, grapefruit and lemon mainly. Very complex hops on this one. Even a floral note in there. Pretty solid IPA.

A slightly hazy dark golden color with a meringue like cream colored head with outstanding retention and great lacing. Aroma is surprisingly bready with somewhat dank and grassy hop smell. A sweet bread taste at first then some chives and grassy hop flavors. A piney bitterness takes over and starts to build, along with some herbal tea. Finishes dry with a lingering semi-smooth bitterness. Medium bodied with a crisp level of carbonation. Drinkable with lots of flavor.

2014 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours an ever so slightly hazy golden light copper with a big, thick off-white head. Aroma is light malt, caramel, orange and some herbal/floral hops. Taste is malt, caramel, herbal bitterness and a little orange and peppery spice. Taste is nicely balanced with a pleasant residual bitterness that remains. Medium mouthfeel that is a little astringent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
