3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Clear amber pour with a 2-3 finger, fluffy, off white head that has great retention and leaves pretty nice lacing. Aroma is big on citrus and pine, some caramel and toast and some fruity yeast. Flavor is big on pine and citrus start to finish, somewhere in there a decent chunk of caramel, cereal, sweet, crystal-like malt, with some grapefruit, pine, cat box and weed to the finish. Medium body with a juicy entry, moderate strength, sharp carbonation, big acidic hop bite and dry, slightly astringent finish. Really good stuff, nice, classic West Coast IPA hop profile with a huge hop bite, a little too astringent in the finish though.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly murky orange-yellow color with a large white head. The aroma has a decent blend of fruit, yeast and caramel. The flavor is full of piney hops with a fruit backdrop.

Can. Pours orangish golden. Aroma is soapy citrus. Taste is sweet malty citrus with a sweet hoppy grapefruit zest finish. Pretty good. A little more on the malty side for my personal preference but good.

Can at Seattle tasting. Richer gold-orange, foamy head. Resiny, a little pine, sweet, earthy. Not my favorite profile. But solid, sweet, full IPA

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 2/5/2016. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, mango, apricot, pineapple, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Fantastic aromas with awesome balance and complexity of bright/dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, mango, apricot, pineapple, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness as well, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible IPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
This stuff doesnít have my favorite hop profile but itís decent enough. Itís very cloudy orange w/ a creamy head of fine bubbles and lacing in patches. It has a strong grapefruit and woody pine nose that evolves to an almost coffee-like bitterness in the finish. Itís a bit sweet and sticky and quite resinous, which makes it come off a bit heavy for my tastes. Thereís nothing really wrong w/ this at all but it just comes off as a bit much to be really drinkable and doesnít really lend itself to slow sipping either.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500mL can, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma and flavour brings out piney hops, crackery malt, and some bready notes. Dry, piney and somewhat bitter. Well-balanced and thirst-quenching. Very good.
