3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
FROM NOTES: July 6, í12
A: Very slight citra hop notes, and a toasted wheat aroma. Balanced orange citrus hop note in the middle and a cereal grain finish.
A: Pours a hazey pale golden color with a finger-width of off-white head that quickly recedes into nothing. No lacing.
T: Starts with a strong toasted wheat flavor that permeates the entire brew. Mild orange hop note in the middle. Finishes a little watery and leaves a delicious dry cracked wheat flavor that lasts quite a while.
P: Light body and some mild, bubbly carbonation.
O: Very drinkable just not something thatís going to rock your socks off. Overall a solid pale wheat.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours with a nice pale head to release nice subtle, citrusy notes. Cloudy and golden like a great unfiltered wheat should be.
Really, this is a good and tasty wheat beer. It doesn't really disembark from the mainstream but frankly that's ok. It's nice to have a wheat that delivers on what you expect from a good solid wheat.
Pleasant and balanced with a clean finish well designed for a nice warm day outside.

My first impression is that this is a weak attempt to make a raw beer of some kind. It looks and smells wonderful with a warm bready tone from across the room. But once you take a taste you realize that the yeast is immature and the aftertaste is almost cheesy. Tallgrass is number one on their highly refined pale ales but this is just an attempt to fill in a much desired category. I would rather have a mass produced beer in the same category from down the i70. Just because you are from the wheat state, does not mean you have to be number 1 in wheat.

Can from Johns. Hazy copper with head. Extremely mild grainy aroma. Some mild fruit sweetness with grainy grassy clean almost nonexistent finish. I must admit I was hoping for a hefe.
"Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat is an unapologetic American Wheat..."
American wheat ale is probably the most useless craft style. Why?
Anyhow, I drainpoured beers that I rated higher, but itís hot and there is nothing offensive about it.

Can. Wow, what a decent little wheat beer. Nothing special, fruity and wheaty aroma. Taste is the same, with a tartness to it that, with the other flavors, make it pretty refreshing. I love that Tallgrass puts out so many decent tastes in a can. 5% alcohol.
