COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat is an unapologetic American Wheat with the rich flavors of Kansas grain, a fruity aroma and a taste like the very best day of summer. Just like the Halcyon Days of yore, this seasonal brew won’t last forever, but no worries: Halcyon will return next year sure as summer.

This pours a cloudy, golden amber color with a slight head. The taste is smooth, full of wheat and a hint of citrus. Overall pretty good and delicious.

Kind of a spicy wheat aroma. Taste is wheaty, kind of spicy. Thinnish body. Not bad.

Tap from Memory Lanes. Not super excited about ordering this one on paper. Hazy, cloudy light golden color as expected from an unfiltered wheat. A little banana in the nose but it?s pretty faint. Familiar wheat taste. Not much in terms of uniqueness. Some peppery flavor at the finish. Maybe a little sweet but overall simple taste. My advice....you can probably find a better wheat.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance is slightly hazy golden yellow colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies within thirty seconds. The smell has sweet wheat, slightly earthy hops, and just a tad of pepper. The taste is sweet through the previously mentioned flavors and adding a nice little peppery kick in the back. There is no aftertaste, yet a dry finish. The mouthfeel is vey smooth as this rolls across the tongue and mouth is almost practically indescribable, other than that, its light, and very sessionable. Overall, I will definitely seek this beer out again as this is very good for the style and very good to me, there’s a nice refreshing aspect to it.

16oz can thanks to Jake65. Pours a hazy gold with some frothy, white head. Aromas of hay, grass, lemon, a little orange, mild spice, a little yeast. Not overly estery which I really liked. Flavor has some candy sweetness, a little plastic, lemon, dried grass, some light soap. Lightly sweet finish. Not your standard wheat.

FROM NOTES: July 6, ’12 A: Very slight citra hop notes, and a toasted wheat aroma. Balanced orange citrus hop note in the middle and a cereal grain finish. A: Pours a hazey pale golden color with a finger-width of off-white head that quickly recedes into nothing. No lacing. T: Starts with a strong toasted wheat flavor that permeates the entire brew. Mild orange hop note in the middle. Finishes a little watery and leaves a delicious dry cracked wheat flavor that lasts quite a while. P: Light body and some mild, bubbly carbonation. O: Very drinkable just not something that’s going to rock your socks off. Overall a solid pale wheat.

Pours with a nice pale head to release nice subtle, citrusy notes. Cloudy and golden like a great unfiltered wheat should be. Really, this is a good and tasty wheat beer. It doesn't really disembark from the mainstream but frankly that's ok. It's nice to have a wheat that delivers on what you expect from a good solid wheat. Pleasant and balanced with a clean finish well designed for a nice warm day outside. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My first impression is that this is a weak attempt to make a raw beer of some kind. It looks and smells wonderful with a warm bready tone from across the room. But once you take a taste you realize that the yeast is immature and the aftertaste is almost cheesy. Tallgrass is number one on their highly refined pale ales but this is just an attempt to fill in a much desired category. I would rather have a mass produced beer in the same category from down the i70. Just because you are from the wheat state, does not mean you have to be number 1 in wheat.

Not a bad wheat but nothing special. I would put it around the boulevard wheat area. Okay very drinkable but nothing special.

16oz can poured into a shaker. Light citrus and light wheat. Drinkable but nothing special at all. This is everything i hate about summer seasonals.
