Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat is an unapologetic American Wheat with the rich flavors of Kansas grain, a fruity aroma and a taste like the very best day of summer. Just like the Halcyon Days of yore, this seasonal brew wonít last forever, but no worries: Halcyon will return next year sure as summer.

Two fingers of head, great retention. Hazy, dark straw colored body with unfiltered sediment floating around. Smells like honey and Sparkling water taste with a nice dryness. Some lemon and sunshine. Refreshing and clean. Smooth and crisp texture. Moderate carbonation. Pretty good and unique flavor and great looking to boot.

Very mild spicy aroma, with a touch of wheat. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a full white head. The flavor starts with a touch of citrus, a bit of almost honey like sweetness, and a touch of earthy notes. Light bodied, with full carbonation. The finish ends with the lingering honey sweetness. If you prefer your beers on the sweeter side, youíll probably like this more then me. When I grab an American Wheat, Iím looking for more hops.

A decent beer but there are many better wheat beers to drink in the summertime.

Can. Pours mostly cloudy gold with some white head. Nose and taste is mild wheat and some citrus. Some DMS in the taste. Creamy aftertaste. Ok.

This seems to have a hint of hefeweizen character to it. Might be just the texture playing tricks on me. Itís cloudy orange with a long lasting white head. Nose is mild and pleasantly fruity with a tough of doughy grain. This is a hair too sweet for my tastes but does at least have a nice, creamy texture. It finishes slightly bitter for balance. Pretty tasty but that extra sweetness definitely takes it down a notch.

Shared pint can poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was soft grain/wheat, lightly dank, with subtle spice, and light esters as orange & apricot. Light bodied, with lively carbonation that offered a bit of frothy fizz to the mouthfeel, pleasant fruitiness, and a touch of tartness. Light, highly sessionable, and refreshing.

Can poured into pint glass. Color is golden, pours with a nice frothy white foam head. Aroma is a grassy, barnyard/hay smell but not very forward, kind of like a dry bale of straw from a few feet away. Taste is kind of sour and slightly bitter but as with the aroma itís just not jumping out nor is it real smooth. Mouthfeel is oily with too much carbonation for this style of beer. I kinda wish it would go more distinctly one direction or another, but instead itís just kind of in the middle of everywhere. Not unpleasant, but nothing special.

Pint can into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy light yellow, with a fluffy white head that fades quickly. No lacing. Not much nose, but a faint aroma of grass. Taste is of watery grain, with a short finish. Not much here.
