COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Halcyon Unfiltered Wheat is an unapologetic American Wheat with the rich flavors of Kansas grain, a fruity aroma and a taste like the very best day of summer. Just like the Halcyon Days of yore, this seasonal brew won’t last forever, but no worries: Halcyon will return next year sure as summer.

Assertive hop aroma, citrus and pine. Pours hazy yellow-gold with ample effervescence. Nice frothy head with average duration. Flavor is hoppier than expected for a wheat - again the citrus and resin. Medium light body, with a nice carbonation. Overall, not especially complex, but a nice thirst quencher. Nice for summer drinking.

Can poured into pint glass. Color is golden, pours with a nice frothy white foam head. Aroma is a grassy, barnyard/hay smell but not very forward, kind of like a dry bale of straw from a few feet away. Taste is kind of sour and slightly bitter but as with the aroma it’s just not jumping out nor is it real smooth. Mouthfeel is oily with too much carbonation for this style of beer. I kinda wish it would go more distinctly one direction or another, but instead it’s just kind of in the middle of everywhere. Not unpleasant, but nothing special.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home tired after work on a nice spring evening with the window open, a nice feeling. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a robust frothy white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and yeast. Taste is decent, mostly wheat and yeast, not bad though, a good sign of warmer weather to come.

This seems to have a hint of hefeweizen character to it. Might be just the texture playing tricks on me. It’s cloudy orange with a long lasting white head. Nose is mild and pleasantly fruity with a tough of doughy grain. This is a hair too sweet for my tastes but does at least have a nice, creamy texture. It finishes slightly bitter for balance. Pretty tasty but that extra sweetness definitely takes it down a notch.

Rather hoppy aroma. Wheat bread. Decent head. Great balance between hop and wheat in flavor. Very crisp. Extraordinary wheat. Had on tap at Farmers Gastropub in Springfield, MO.

Pours a carbonated golden in color with a medium, white, long lasting head. The aroma consists of wheat, lemon, orange, floral hops, and mild spices. The taste has a touch of sweetness and a little bit tart. It is similar to the nose. There is plenty of wheat and lemon, complimented by spices, yeast, and a bit of banana. Aftertaste is a short wheat. This is medium in body, has a slick texture, and has a good amount of fizzy carbonation. This isn’t among my favorite styles, but I enjoyed this.

Shared pint can poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was soft grain/wheat, lightly dank, with subtle spice, and light esters as orange & apricot. Light bodied, with lively carbonation that offered a bit of frothy fizz to the mouthfeel, pleasant fruitiness, and a touch of tartness. Light, highly sessionable, and refreshing.

Pint can into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy light yellow, with a fluffy white head that fades quickly. No lacing. Not much nose, but a faint aroma of grass. Taste is of watery grain, with a short finish. Not much here.
