3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 3, 2009 Pours quaintly so with a medium sized head that fades into a moderate lacing. The color is clear copper, has just a slightly sticky lacing. Aroma is a mish mash of hops with nothing standing out. Its aggressive, lightly fruity, bitter. There is a watery caramel maltiness mixing in there as well. Its very tree leaf like and that mixes with the light, watery caramel, which is not aggressive or overbearing. Comes off as bland tea as well. Taste is similar, the bitterness is stepped up a bit, the malts fade, which is a good thing. The hops are bitter, green, leafy and somewhat clean. Heck, its an IPA, not badly made, nothing special, and well... its an IPA. I can say for sure this is the best bottled beer in Kansas at this time, which isn’t really saying much. I guess FlssmrBrewAlum says it best "not an IPA that stands out among many, but a brew I’d buy if it was a regular in my area" and it happens to be that.
12oz bottle BB 4/30/09 (I would guess these are 6 month BBs), 20th Anniversary Free State German-inspired pint glass. 7/3/7/3/15
Drinking the second batch of this beer. I like the little tinkering, they took away some of the lightly abrasive bitterness and replaced some of that watery caramel with more of a medley, light sweet hoppiness. Leaves a nice long light sweet and floral aftertaste. I like it a bit more now. 7/3/8/3/16

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was sent to me by Strykzone in a trade. Thanks Dave. This poured from the 16 oz can a rich amber that was almost clear with a really robust and foamy off-white head. Light lacing. Medium plus body and a smooth slick mouth feel. Flavor is floral hops and caramel malts. Lack of bitteness in the finish makes this more like a pale ale than an IPA. But it drinks well. Retired I notice. While it is a nice beer it is not to style so maybe is why they ran the flag down the flagpole.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The appearance combines an orange color with a large and foamy off-white head, and the aroma combines spruce, resin, and floral hops. The taste is mildly bitter and a touch sweet, which doesn’t assault the senses whatsoever; furthermore, the palate fuses a medium body, sticky texture, a slightly bitter finish, and a soft carbonation.

Grass, like the name. Grapefruit and earth in the aroma. Sweet biscuit malt, followed by bitter hops. Refreshing lively feel. A quaffable IPA

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear copper color with a floral aroma. Taste is smooth for hops inspired IPA. Slight hops bite after the swallow that dissapates quickly. Overall a decent IPA.

Can from Total wine chantilly. Pours orange with an inch of foam. A bit biscuity on the nose. There’s some floral hop notes on the tongue. Finishes with a touch of bitterness. Eh!

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Big malt body to this ipa. Dark golden body with a frothy white head. Bitterness eventually makes its way at the end. Much maltier than most and that’s OK.
