3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint can poured to a shaker at Lunar Brewing Co., with a black/brown color that showed a bit of ruby highlighting at the base, frothy persistence to the billowy, tan head foam, and waves & spots of clingy lacing. The nose was roastiness, expressive Ghiradelli-like, gourmet chocolate, with vanilla bean, not extract, blended in. The taste had a creamy, milk & chocolate nature to it, less roastiness, light to medium body, with low bitterness, and soft carbonation. Would have preferred some better texture, which came off a bit thin, but still liked this stoutís flavorful drinkability.

Dark brown/black pour with abundant light tan head that fades somewhat quickly. Aroma is full of roast, vanilla, and soft notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is more of the same, buttery smooth mouthfeel, cardamom and possibly nutmeg.

I like the regular one but the vanilla bean stout is not for me. It tastes like metal top me. Not my favorite but not horrible.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This winter seasonal is in high demand here in the Midwest. One sip and itís easy to understand why. The vanilla isnít a half-baked (half-brewed?) concept. Itís been given time to mature and release its full flavor and aroma. It makes for a damn good addition to what was already a fantastic beer. Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat is a winter treat. I could have can after can of this spicy, chocolatey goodness.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice brown with hints of mahogany around the edges. Nice two finger off white head. Aroma is roast and espresso. Some sweetness on the nose as well. Slight vanilla. On the palate, its more of the nose with some bitter chocolate playing in. The finish has a bit more of the vanilla sweetness to it, but not overpowering. Body is thin. Nice, sessionable.
