4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This winter seasonal is in high demand here in the Midwest. One sip and it’s easy to understand why. The vanilla isn’t a half-baked (half-brewed?) concept. It’s been given time to mature and release its full flavor and aroma. It makes for a damn good addition to what was already a fantastic beer. Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat is a winter treat. I could have can after can of this spicy, chocolatey goodness.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice brown with hints of mahogany around the edges. Nice two finger off white head. Aroma is roast and espresso. Some sweetness on the nose as well. Slight vanilla. On the palate, its more of the nose with some bitter chocolate playing in. The finish has a bit more of the vanilla sweetness to it, but not overpowering. Body is thin. Nice, sessionable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2014 16 oz can thanks to soonerchamps. Pours dark brown with very little head that collects to a ring. Aroma is dominated by vanilla with a light hint chocolate. Taste is all vanilla really. Maybe a touch of coffee and chocolate. Thin to medium body. Decent, easy to drink stout but I wish there was something more than just vanilla here.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours basically black with a good big head and nice lacing on the glass.
Geeze this beer is really coffe forward in the aroma, lots of roast, lots of chillin @ the coffe shop while beans are roasting aroma offered. Roasty, sweet smelling, pungent, and inviting.
Flavor is sweet, lots of milked chocolate offered, lots’s of vanilla offered, lots of roastiness & coffe character. s’got enough bitterness to bring some needed balance.
I think what I like best about it is that it brings a lot of elements that folks (myself included) like about Imperial Stout into a lower boost format.
