16 oz can. Dark brown with a big foamy tan head. Nose is vanilla, coffee, cocoa and caramel. Medium body with fizzy carb making it feel lighter. Taste is cola, coffee, vanilla and grape needing just a bit of roast to balance. Good starter for the evening.

Pint can into a pint glass. Pours a deep brown, with a medium mocha head that fades quickly. Some lacing. Nose is coffee, caramel, and chocolate, and the taste follows the nose, with a hint of vanilla added. Very smooth. Nice.

Pours a clear chestnut with a nice tan head and decent lacing. Aroma of vanilla, mocha, cocoa and sweet tobacco. Taste is similar with an earthy vanilla flavor, mocha, cocoa, coffee and a bit of roast. Finishes with some mild roast and tobacco. A semi creamy mouthfeel, medium/full body and low carbonation. Easy drinking and flavorful.

A black body trimmed in mahogany supports a quickly fading, creamy to frothy, light khaki head which settles to a medium ring with a few arcing series of dots and islands

Rich, integrated aromas and flavors of vanilla infused chocolate cake badder, treacle, caramel, nuttiness, and faint accents of plumb preserves and cola on a light-plus body offering light carbonation and light residuals of the previously mentioned components with a greater emphasis on the dark fruit sweetness

Lots of flavor and richness in a sessionally appropriate strength and package, glad to have this brewery near by

16oz can via the Local Why the Hell Not BIF. Pours a mostly opaque black with quite a bit of fizzy, sudsy beige head. Nose is kinda cool, lots of malt, some toast, quite a bit of raisin, some licorice too.. The vanilla bean is there, but in a very raw sense. Flavor sort of follows, chewy grains, malt, toast, thereís a fig jam thing happening too, some vanilla, brown sugar too. Slightly heavier carbonation leads to a bit of a heavy finish.

Borders on black, with a luminescent mahogany sheen around the edges. Velvety aroma of fresh baked cookie dough, chocolate, and raspberry. Itís quite straightforward, but the essence of vanilla here is deftly integrated into an ample malt structure; it never grows cloying or seems artificial.

The vanilla notes in the flavor are strikingly more herbal; they skirt the surface a bit more here. Sarsaparilla flavors blend with cinnamon bark. Here itís clear that there isnít enough malt flavor to support this level of flavoring, which is a disappointment given the promising aroma.

The thin palate accentuates this issue, of course; there is ultimately little to no body to support all this vanilla. Worse and worse it gets, unfortunately.
