COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For our second beer we wanted to do something completely different than Tallgrass Ale, and still stay true to our roots of being an independent craft brewery from Kansas. Tallgrass Wheat is different from what most would expect in a Midwestern wheat. Tallgrass Wheat is brewed in the Belgian Wit style, with our unique blend of cracked coriander, Curaçao orange peel and natural spice. This blend, our Belgian brewer’s yeast, and a generous helping of oats creates a complex, smooth, and highly satisfying wheat beer that is best enjoyed on hot Midwestern summer afternoons. Tallgrass Wheat is brewed to have a drinkability, complexity, and unique character that craft beer drinkers appreciate. The scent of peppery coriander, orange citrus, and fresh-baked bread permeates the brewery whenever this wheat beer is being brewed!

From bottle (old notes by the way) pours a cloudy typical wheat, citrus nose, ok for mowing lawn.

Pours a very cloudy, unfiltered yellow color with a long lasting creamy white head. Aroma is spicy with hints of citrus. Initial taste of citrus (orange) with a finish of spice. Interesting flavour...in a good way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

No, I didn’t age this beer. That isn’t the reason for its low rating. I remember when this beer came on the market, being pretty excited about a new KS brewery, and then being disappointed. Its weak body, citrus sweet flavor and sour aroma made this one of my least favorites from the brewery. Thank god for Halcyon displacing this one!

12 oz. bottle via trade with Pawola22- thanks again, Brian! Pours a cloudy yellow with a two finger thick white foamy white head that dissipates quickly, leaving only light lacing. Aroma of wheat, coriander, yeast, pepper, lemon citrus, and bread. The flavor is where it sort of falls off the rails, as the watery-light mouthfeel doesn’t bring out the light notes of lemon citrus, wheat, yeast, coriander, pepper, and weak tea. Watery mouthfeel, low carbonation, and light bodied. When I smelled this, I thought it was going to be a lot better than it wound up being.

Hazy pale yellow color/ viscous white head. Big coriander, clove aromas with mild tart wheat. Light body with light carbonation. Spicy coriander, clove flavors with lightly tart wheat, and fresh grains. not bad.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy, brighter yellow-gold colored body with a finger-width, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is a light, somewhat bready wheat with a citrusy zest. Orange peels, lemons, limes, and banana as well as a light honey sweetness, a soft coriander spicing, and some yeast. Flavor is the same. Light, bready wheats and honey, banana, coriander and yeast spice, and some zesty citrus with a crisp and dry finish that yields a very light, peppery bitterness. Aftertaste lingers for a short duration after a light, smooth body and a soft, fizzy carbonation. Overall, a light bodied quaffer. Not the most flavor or intensity, but not bad either.

Bottle thanks to Mreusch. Smells of lemon and some sort of bread. Not much grain presence in this at al. Pours a light yellow with a huge fluffy cloud of a head. Flavor is pure lemon zest. What the hell....I thought this was a wheat beer?
