Wild Plum Farmhouse Ale is a crisp, slightly tart, and uniquely refreshing beer. An infusion of wild plums, hand-picked at a genuine farmhouse, gives this beer a light tangy fruit flavor.

The perfect summer companion. Farmhouse ales are also known as “saisons” (French for seasonal), a style of summer beers traditionally brewed by Belgian farmers to serve farm workers as part of their wages. Not a bad deal, if you can get it.

Wild Plum is available each summer, June through July.

interesting and light. Great spicy barnyard yeast character. Dryness kept me drinking more.

Can. Pours hazy butterscotch with a large puffy off white head that has good staying power and laces well. Aroma is fairly standard saison, peppery, yeast, lemon, herbs. Flavor is the same with a fruity, kind of odd, note over the top. Light plus sweet, a touch of lemony zest. Medium body, high carbonation. Not bad, actually.

Sampled at Kennys. This is a nice saison. I kept looking for plum but found none. Still, it is a nice beer. Just a bit of bret.

smell of musty fruit beer pours a murky off gold color with a very nice foamy head, taste is like the smell a hint of the plum as advertised and also taste of yeast no lingering aftertaste all in all a pretty decent beer from tallgrass

16 oz can. BB 01/11/14. From a trade with deyholla.
Golden colour with a small dense creamy white head. Yeast, mild bitterness, fruits and hops in the aroma. The flavour is Belgian yeast, grassy hops, moderate bitterness and some fruitiness. Tasty. Plums I can’t find but it doesn’t matter. This is good.

Can - Clear golden pour with a thin soapy white head. Nose is dry, fruity saison yeast, a hint of spice, and a dry pale malt base. Nice fruitiness. Taste is dry and soapy, with mild spice, dusty yeast, and a touch of fruitiness on the finish. That must be the plum, but it’s real soapy. Medium bodied and well-carbonated. Weird beer.

16oz can. Hazy gold-orange-yelllow unfiltered body. Thin, creamy, steady of-white head. Has a pretty discernable plum character, which melds nicely with the Saison yeast. A little bit of a bite, but then fades into a sweet finish. Has some depth, but maybe a little too much going on, the Saison yeast is not really a clean palate to paint on. An OK, enjoyable beer.
