3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly hazy, light amber pour with a tall, chunky, off white head Aroma of spicy yeast, tree fruit, cereal, light funk, berry notes and spicy, light citrus and floral hops. Flavor is raw bready yeast, sweet malt, cereal, tree fruit, sweet and tart plums, spicy, floral and citrus hops. Lightish body light to medium body with a syrupy, slick and slightly solvent-like feel, a little like getting a bit of acetone in your mouth. A strange feeling that I usually only notice in higher ABV beers, probably has to do with high gravity/high temp. fermenting, but I don’t really know what it is. Aside form the odd feel, pretty decent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tall can, thank to jsowers, 01/21/2014. Pours hazy gold, huge rocky head takes quite a while to die down. Aroma is a cloud of yeast up front, soft, mild fruitiness and cereal malts, light dampness and funk. Taste is yeast, hay, subtle tartness, grassy bitterness in the finish, touch of fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Light, crisp body with medium high carbonation, finishes dry. Not much plum as others note. Still, don’t understand the relatively low score, this one seemed decent at least, going in the right direction and pretty enjoyable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear gold color with tall foamy head. Aroma is some funky grain and a bit of sourness. Taste is wheaty, a little spicy, some grassy hops and a bit of fruitiness from the plums that lend some tartness. Plum is very faint but there. Overall, just ok for me.

A can I received in trade from UNCLEMIKE
Pretty typical as far as a "farmhouse ale" goes.
I can’t really detect the plums..
I could drink this again.. Just wish it had more plum.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big can shared by Ed5388. Ed told me that he choose the screen name Ed5388 because that’s the highest number he can count to. Poured with an appearance that seemed infected, all head at first followed by a long slow settle. Body of an orange/gold body under that ridiculous head. Aroma is all Belgian style, lots of yeast, slight fruitiness, bubble gum and chalk. Medium body with average carbonation, chalky, long lasting aftertaste. Flavor of yeast, plums, bubble gum, dry bread. Meh.

16oz can thanks to RobertDale via local for local swap 5.5. Pours a hazy straw color with an enormous frothy white head. Aroma of funk, citrus, and hints of sweet plum and perfume. Taste of citrus, grass, white grapes, bready malts, and a hint of sweet plum.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
16oz can. Pours clear, light golden in color. Aroma of citrus, coriander, sand plum. Flavor is citrus, sand plum, coriander. A decent saison, but has the added wild sand plum flavor that reminds me of sand plum jelly that my grandmother used to make.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer is insanely difficult to drink. Not because it tastes bad, its pretty good, but the carbonation is so extreme its hard to enjoy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
slightly hazy pale golden with some dense eggshell colored foam which gradually settles into a thin sheet and light lacing. some barnyard aromas with light plum and some honeysuckle/ light floral notes. flavor has biscuity, toasty notes with gentle fruit notes and a pretty dry finish and fairly crisp carbonation. medium bodied. I think this is a fair saison, pretty well balanced. I poured a can at a local establishment a few weeks ago at the tartness was more present so it’s probably slightly past season now, but still good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Even though it borders on a sour, this is a very drinkable, tasty saison. It comes from a sampler pack (bonus rating points for coming from a tall boy can). All 4 varieties have a low alcohol content, which must be their way if balancing out the extra ounces (which loses 1 of the 2 bonus points... wait, I just learned of the restrictions in Iowa. Oh, Midwest.
