COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasty dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. Itís hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time.

Delicious porter with an intense smokey chocolate aroma. Beautiful dark pour. Almost as satisfying as a great stout.

Poured from can. Black in color with a tan head. Good roasty cocoa and coffee flavors. Great graphics on the can. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home while watching Bears week 6 football on a nice Sunday afternoon. Appearance is a creamy dark dark brown, a bit of light coming at the bottom of the glass, nice moderate dark tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate malt with a large emphasis of the malt, as well as a bit of roast. Taste is very nice, roasted chocolate malt is the key ingredient, light bitterness, a tad dry as well. Well done.

Seriously malt focused with just a hint of hops. A perfect pairing when served on tap along with an egg-and-bacon-topped burger -- just like I had at Stubbyís in MKE

Can as an extra in trade. Pours dark brown, fully opaque in the glass, with a massive khaki brown head. Roasty aroma with bittersweet chocolate, coffee, a bit of dark fruit. Nice. Flavor is a nice roasted malt and chocolate punch with hints of earthy coffee flavors, surprisingly preent since there isnít coffee in this (I donít think). A bit of brown sugar sweetness. Pleasant all the way through. Medium body, even pushing light for the style, with medium plus carbonation. Overall a very solid porter in a sea of plenty decent porters. Thereís nothing that makes this stick out, but itís perfectly pleasant and worth sucking down if you want roast without the heft.

Draft at Highflyers Grille. This beer was opaque black and had a decent head. Chocolate lead with earth and roast. Some zing and fruit from hops along with just a little bitterness. Something like oatmeal smoothed things out. A nice feel.

I didnít realize this was the 666th beer Iíve rated. How interesting and coincidental that thereís talk about a post-apocalypse in the beerís description. Mild dark chocolate aroma. Strong dark chocolate in flavor. Creamy mouthfeel. Can either session or savor, though itís better to savor for a little. The aftertaste is really nice - a little bitterness lingers to go with a nice malt coating. Good carb. Nice beer, but not interested in taking the mark and becoming a zombie monkey beast in real life. I prefer being among the devout monks, and I prefer their beer. :)

Pours a very dark brown with a full, long lasting tan head. A more potent aroma consists of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and roasted malts. The taste heavily roasted with plenty of chocolate as well. Additionally, there is a healthy compliment of coffee, some pine, and hints of licorice. Aftertaste is a little more mild, with a combination of coffee and chocolate. Medium in body, somewhat of an oily texture, with some softer carbonation. This is a very good porter that Iíd easily purchase again. There is also some cool textured artwork on the can.

On tap at Shamrocks. Served a blackish color with a thick head that faded slowly to good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate with bit of coffee in the background. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate some coffee and nut. Has a bit of a burnt malt bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Fairly full body, robust flavor with a distinct character. Enjoyable beer, worth checking out.

From the can into an English pint glass: Nice dark coffee brown with amber tones; Two fingers of lush tan foam sat atop, settling eventually into a well-sustained half inch of head. I smell milk chocolate, potent sweet caramel, some alcohol. Itís a delicious full-flavored porter, roasty and sweet, without being overbearing. I think the palate is most notable, medium mouthfeel that shoots right down the middle.
