COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasty dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. Itís hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time.

Delicious porter with an intense smokey chocolate aroma. Beautiful dark pour. Almost as satisfying as a great stout.

Pours almost black with a thick, tan head. Rich burnt malt and chocolate flavors with an underlying sweetness that turns dry at the finish. Just a tiny bit thin on mouth feel but quite drinkable.

Pours a black color with a huge creamy tan head. Massive lacing. Subtle toasty aroma. Creamy mouth feel. Subtle coffee and chocolate. Not as astringent as most porters. More in line with a stout but one of the better Tallgrass I have tried.

Beautiful chocolates aroma that pours black like obsidian and a light head. Sharp on the tongue in the best way with lots of roasted malt in balance with sharp, clear hops. This beer rocks my apocalypse. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at GABF 2015. Late entry from my tasting notes. Overlooked this one. In the taster dark brown with a light tan head. Nose of roast malts an vanilla. Medium plus body. Flavor is chocolate dark ripe fruit, and the vanilla. Finishes with some citrus and bitterness. Very nice.

From can at Great Nebraska Beer Fest. Poured dark brown, tan head. Aroma was chocolate, roasted coffee. Taste was burnt, roasted malt, bitter chocolate.

Can. Pours an opaque black with a high, lacy, mixed-grained, creamy light tan head -- fact is, thereís a lot of head there; almost too much. Nose is subdued by the head, but thereís chocolate, coffee, a touch of coconut, smoke, tobacco, and spices. Dry on the tongue, with good richness; it avoids the pitfall of being too heavy. Itís not imperial, itís just a porter, and thatís great. Good coffee, baking chocolate, and licorice notes. Long, dry finish. Quite tasty.

One of my favorite porters. Has the usual dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, dark-roasted malt along with a nice hops bitterness that balances really well with the malt character. Pretty highly-carbonated for a porter, which adds to making this a unique porter. One of the driest finishes among the porters Iíve tried. Iíd call it 80% porter and 20% mild IPA. Great beer.

This canned brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges black brown colored body. The balanced aroma was malty. The semi-flat mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild roasted malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt toasted malt burnt malt chocolate brown malt and dark malt. A wonderful best in class brew.

Shared 16 oz. can. Pours brown with a large beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Pretty good. Bonus point on overall score for the tactical grip "To prevent slippage while fleeing." The can does indeed have a substance sprayed on it which makes it easier to grip.

Aroma: intense roastiness with some coffee; Appearance: pitch black with foamy white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: follows nose; more like a stout than a porter; Palate: heavy body with long, roasty finish; Overall: quite good; would buy again.
