Creamy oily beige head on top of a glowing coppery orange body. Creamy, bready, and piney nose is amazingly balanced. Toasted biscuits and citrus rind. Firm mouthfeel with a little tingle, very herbal and vegital hops with a firm carmel backbone. Hides 8.2% very well. Very well balanced, hard to believe its a double IPA. Finishes bready and softly bitter.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2015 On tap at Smoke House Ape. Pretty straight up. An unassuming gold, nice piney hop, decent hop bite and flavour. What really surprised was how well the ABV and bitterness stayed restrained for an imperial. Very smooth to drink, it was gone in minutes on a hot day. Smooth, standard, a solid tasty 2IPA that just the lacks the complexity of their 10th anni but does the job.

Bottle version. Apricot marmelade, cake. Mango, bitter citrus, biscuit, green pine, dry hoppy finish. Quite a bit of yeast sediment. Was expecting a bit more, but still a solid and smooth hoppy iipa.

bottle from craft beer base osaka. Delicious aroma bursting with hops. The finish is moderately dry, extremely bitter (a bit much for me even for an imperial ipa). A very good IIPA.

330ml bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into an English pint. Hazy golden marmalade color with a modest soapy head that dissipates fairly quickly, but leaves a nice collar throughout. Great lacing. Huge aromas of pine, resin, catpiss, grapefruit, papaya and passion fruit. Bitter on the palate with some citrus sweetness (mikan). Grapefruit pith in there as well on the bitter side. Medium body with average carbonation. Slightly oily and sticky mouthfeel. Nice long bitter finish. Hides the alcohol really well. Excellent offering.

Bottle. Aroma fruity, hoppy, orange, citrus, lychee. Clear orange colour. Fruity hoppy flavour, same as above, fresh crisp. High bitterness, but also decent balancing sweetness. Long fruity hoppy finish. Very good.

Tap at Keg, Nagoya (as "Shiga Kogen Beer House IPA"). Amber color, small white head. Very piney, fresh hoppy aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Piney, resiny bitterness. Hops are overpowering weakish maltyness. Ok.

Bottle at home in London. Thanks to Tim for this one. Pours hazy, rich orange-gold, fairly effervescent with a large, frothy white head. Lovely aroma, lots of ripening citrus fruits, grapefruit, mandarin orange, touches of doughy pale malts. Medium sweet flavor with further rich citrus, some juicy melon, cantaloupe, grapefruit, mango and papaya, some bitter pine, plastic grass. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderately resinous to finish, some faintly pithy citrus, more grapefruit, mango, peach. Very tasty. Good balance for the strength.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Fairly clear, golden colour. Lots of citrus, especially orange, aroma. Strong orange taste with reisin and some hops, though not very bitter.
