Bottle thanks to Neil, cheers mate! Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a medium white head. A big sweet malty nose, some gin and caramel. The overall flavor is sweet sugary malts, berry, some soft caramel and especially toffee. Very flavorful. A bit oxidized I think which I like. Hard to pin down, certainly not a IIPA at this point. Quite lovely really. Soft and decadent.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2015 Bottle, thanks to TimE, 04/13/2015. Pours deep copper, small white head fades to a ring around the glass. Aroma is resin, spruce, lightly honeyed caramel with orange overtones, peach, whiskey notes blending well to the finish. Taste is big and malty with fruity citrus hops to balance, caramel drizzled orange with strong pine bitterness, whiskey and booze in the finish but balanced. Thick body. Delicious.

Tap at CBM Jimbocho. 100 ml in a snifter. Beautiful deep golden color with a modest soapy off-white head that lasts throughout. Aromas of resin, pine needles, apricot, peach, brandy, butterscotch and slight bit of vanilla on the nose. The sweetness stands out but there is still a nice malt backbone with hops still present with the barrel aging. As it warms up more of the fruit flavors stand out. Alcohol is noticeable, but not overwhelmingly so. Whiskey tones really stand out as it warms up. Very nice, complex beer!

Cloudy dark Amber. Flat. Boozy thick aroma. BIG maybe HUGE. Booze is almost all you can taste. No delicacy or subtlety.

Bottle. Large barrel nose, fumes, vanilla. Deep bright dark straw color. Big sweet fruity initial, sweat, alcohol is apparent / complex mid palate, with alc-infused peaches and pears / sweet, vanilla, fruit compote finish. Thich and heavy body. Pretty hot, full of fruit, and a bit too alcoholic.

Whiskey, cognac aromas. Malty whiskey dominates flavors, plum and caramel, some hoppiness in the back, oak, spicy finish with a bit of alcohol burn. Quite an interesting brew, like an aged IPA turned into barley wine.

Draft - big barrel notes of oak and some whiskey sweetness. Hazy yellow with a thin white head. Again barrel notes and whiskey sweetness. A great scotch ale but as an IPA absolutely horrible. No hop nose, bitterness or flavor.

Draft to flute at Baird Tokyo Tamarind, orange, and sweet malts. Slightly cloudy red tinged amber with a bubbly white head. Strong whiskey with a bit of marmalade. Medium bodied but a very strong alcohol burn.
